You Better Come Home Into My Kitchen Because it's gonna be raining outdoors.....

I was walking down the street one day when I noticed this beautiful red haired gentleman walking towards me. He glanced my way in a nonchalant manner and passed me by. I kept walking and one, two, three, four heartbeats later I turned around to check out the rear view and to my astonished and pleasant surprise he had turned around to check me out too! We flashed embarrassed smiles at each other and laughed, then I turned around and kept going. That was in 1993, when I was a mere 35 years of age and had it going on. I’m 47 now and age is catching up.

Worst thread ever & it’s my first. *Edited for spelling only. Broke out the room temperature Korean Sake. Got the Rolling Stones’ Midnight Mile from Sticky Fingers on the computer. I plugged in the headphones from my MP3 player into the front drive of the computer, but it’s not like the old stereos that I’ve owned where if you plugged in the headphones it cut out the sound to the rest of the household. Does anyone know how to do this or should I just listen to my portable CD player?

I quit smoking 4 months ago. Most of the time I really don’t miss it at all. Once in a great while I miss it badly, but it passes. I tend to not get much exercise, but I like hiking and I used to dance and I miss the exercise. Where does the motivation come from to not let yourself go?
Thread
I read with interest.
I think it has more to do with your life experience and what you’re exposed to.

I was going to e-mail Diogenes the Cynic about Psoriactic Arthritis and maybe even start another annual pit thread about how much Psoriasis sucks. But I did a search and the intermittent flare ups on my palms, soles of my feet and scalp; plus the morning spine and joint stiffness seem insignificant in light of the problems they’ve faced. And they gave out great sites for reference. Flake HQ and others.

U2’s “All I Want Is You” from Rattle and Hum.

I want for Kytheria and Hal Briston and Anastaeson and Faith Fool and Idle Thoughts and Annamika and lissener and Mergop and Roger Thornhill and JRFranchi and …

have you ever heard of The Brendan Voyage by (sheesh, gotta go find the frikkin reading glasses)
by Shaun Davey and Liam O’Flynn. Beautiful stuff.

Van Morrison - Moondance - Oh the water… stoned me just like going home…

You guys make me manic and sleep deprived, but keep your D batteries and goats to yerselves.
Next time you have a newbie iniation, clue me in, I got this recipe for gruyere cheese Chili with beans, onion, garlick, and pickles. and a Cheesecake recipe that my family has forbidden me to divulge (yeah, I read that thread too, I wanted to tell youze all) sour cream and no flour or condensed milk.
Thnks to Big Bad Voodoo Lou for his website recipes!! YES!!

And I gots me a sweet ever loving kitty pootz, she’s been with me for a good 13 years now, my third cat in my lifetime, I’m a believer in devoting myself to one kitty at a time and making her life bliss. Next Kitty pic thread, I’ll be there since I think I’ve sussed the digital camera instructions.

And I’d love to visit Shirley U Jest to go and show her knitting patterns and come up with beautiful items. It’s a good feeling to know one can do this stuff.

And I didn’t say before but if I had a crush on anyone it would be for Lieu. But I hope I’m not old enough to be his mother. Is he married? And I just noticed he posted a thread that I haven’t read yet about…?

She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love
turn up your radio, switch on your electric light

La la la la la la la la , la la la la, la la la la …

We were borne before the Wind…

And here is Dave Bromberg’s How Late’ll Ya Play Til?
So I guess I’ll eventually title this thread Come on Into My Kitchen
becuz I know it’s been done by so many artists since it was written
by Robert Johnson… I was.

It’s not yet raining, may I please come in just for the cheesecake?

It was my Grandma’s recipe, and it called for the crust:

1 and 1/3 cups of grandcracker crumbs plus 1 tablespoon of white sugar and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon and 3/4 cup of melted butter. Mix well, distribute evenly in a springform pan, plus up the sides for 1/2 inch [(this is good english?)] in a springform pan - and if you don’t have a springform pan, I can’t explain it unless you look it up on Amazon.com or Cooking.com, then put it in a preheated 325 degree oven (yeah, lets test the ASCII) ú , no that’s not it, A, degree ú,frick, ó
it’s hold down the alt and random 3 digit # that starts with a 1
just cook the frikkin thing for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. cool (the crust) chill (yerself)

jeez, Grandma would be freaking out at this point if she could hear me now. In the meantime mix two whole eggs with 1 and one third cup white sugar, beat lightly, add 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract and 1/2 teaspoon almond extract. oh, yeah, purchase 2 blocks of Philadelphia Cream Cheese - don’t ask me how many ounces, I think it’s 16 oz., the standard size and either warm at room temperature for several hours or pop in the microwave for maybe 6 minutes on defrost. Standard size being about 1 inch high by 3 inches wide by maybe 6 inches long = 16 ounces? You tell me, I hate food shopping.
Mix it all together and when thats done fold in two containers (I have these in the fridge, let me check) of 16 oz. Breakstone sour cream. Sometimes this seems like too much sour cream, but one container is not enough. (to your own taste, experiment) ( this is what good cooking is all about) Pour onto the crust. Bake at the same 325 degrees for one hour, cool by opening the oven door slightly so it doesn’t crack. Then refrigerate for 3 hours (at least). My Grandfather always teased me about the cake cracking, I’d be sad if it didn’t.
Any copies I eve had of this recipe always said “Good Luck” so I have to pass it on to you too.
Lynn

Today I bought a rubber chicken. When you squeeze the chicken, an egg comes out. It’s squishy. The chicken. Also the egg.

Whee!

My cat’s breath smells like cat food.

My og SWEET Jebus…a real womanfolk who KNOWS about David Bromberg  I am FREAKING impressed

Been listening to david since the early 70’s. I have some great live shows on CD…legally gained i might add.

This was thread almost worth the price of admission

Thanks!

I was rather hoping to just eat some of yours, but the recipe does look doable even for amatuers, I’ll give it a try.

SeeNoReason, I have a SIRIUS crush on your musical choices. Hon, you can tune my radio anytime.

You called, love?

a bottle of champagne in one hand, wearing a smile and not much else

SeeNoReason:

One day when you were 47 this guy read your OP, went on and checked out two, three, four more threads, kept thinking "damn, was that really THAT cool?, went back and read your OP again, and determined that your OP was, indeed, that cool.

Looked just as good goin’ as it did comin’. Very nice indeed!

I was lookin’ back to see,
if you were lookin’ back to see,
If I was lookin’ back to see,
If you were lookin’ back at me.

Wow! You guys! I knew I had a great reason for loving this board!

I wanted to express my appreciation to everybody here in one way or another, but I didn’t want to do when I was tipsy. Did you know that Sake is 15% alcohol by volume and it’s stronger than regular wine? I didn’t. :frowning:

The rubber chicken made me giggle, SmartAleq, what are you feeding him/her? Maybe it’s time to go to the vet for some teeth cleaning? ThisSpaceForRent, I’ve always been surprised that Bromberg isn’t more famous; Lieu, I’ll be listening for ya; and Kytheria, you’re a sweetie, I’m probably old enough to be your mother, put something decent on, okay hon? Queen Tonya, like I said, good luck & enjoy.

I love you guys!

I burning your cheesecake.

The last song I wanna hear before I die is Into the Mystic.

Leave the kitchen door open, I’ll bring sake.
