Dan Savage, in his “Savage Love” sex-advice column, discussed the mask fetish in a recent column (link contains descriptions of sex, no pictures). And for the record, his column the following week contained a retraction of the original advice he gave.
The mask fetish was news to me too.

That reminds me of that really odd masked anime webcam creature. That just freaks the hell out of me.
I’m not judgemental due to having worked for so long in the adult retail industry. It’s just that it is humanly impossible to know about EVERY fetish that exists. It’s amazing the variety of stuff people enjoy. Personally, those masks sort of creep me out but so do clowns. I also don’t dig on occular fetishes (example), such as licking of the eyeball but some people do it. Unless, it involves harming a child in ANY WAY or sex with animals, I’m not going to judge. I also recently heard about cosplay and that whole world. I don’t think it any different than people who are into SCA or getting dressed up for Renfests. Variety is truly the spice of life…

I know one of the guys who runs this site. Pretty well, as a matter of fact (though I am remiss in emailing him! I need to do that. guilt guilt).
He’s a regular kind of guy—married, loves watching sports, very bright and creative—a really cool guy. Shrug I can’t speak for anyone else who likes to wear masks like this. In the case of my friend, it seems like a pretty harmless thing. (I do tease him about it, though. But hey—his wife is okay with it and he’s a great guy, so what’s the big deal?)
