You don't like tattoos, Clothahump. We get it.

“The only difference between a tattooed person and a person who isn’t tattooed is that a tattooed person doesn’t care if you’re tattooed or not.”

Unknown

Yes, but I’ll repeat it.

People who get tattoos and piercings fall into the same category. They are people with psychological problems who have negative self-image and think that getting a tat or piercings will somehow make them “better” or “prettier” or “improved” or whatever.

I know people will disagree with me on this, and that’s fine. But that is the way I look at it, and I know that I am not alone in that viewpoint. And I, just like everyone else, have my own problems and issues, but I at least try to keep them to myself. And when I feel bad about my self-image, I drag my butt off the couch and down to the gym and try to improve it that way. OMMV.

In other words, Clothy’s so outright stupid that he honestly believes he’s qualified to diagnose (nonexistent, imaginary) psychological problems in people based on aesthetic choices.

One presumes he also can tell if you’re depressed by the type of hat you wear.

Hey, I don’t know about you… but if I’m feeling depressed, I refrain from burdening the world with my troubles by putting on an ostentatious hat. I keep my depression and my hats firmly closeted.

If the tattooed person doesn’t care if they’re tattooed why did they get a tattoo?

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but that’s got to be the strangest idea for why people get tattoos I’ve ever heard. I’ve heard a few misguided opinions as to why I have tattoos, but I’ve never before been told I have psychological problems.

Just for the record, my tattoos don’t make me better. I didn’t need them to make me prettier; I’m already pretty. “Improved” - nah, don’t really see that one either.

I understand you don’t like tattoos, Clothahump, and I respect your right to dislike and insult them. But assigning psychological problems to someone who does something you don’t like or agree with speaks more to your having issues than it does to me having issues.

I hope this is a whoosh, but in case it’s not I’ll spell it out. Some people without tattoos go around insulting people with them and insisting that no one should have a tattoo. People with tattoos don’t go around insulting people who don’t have tattoos and insisting everyone should have one.

Do women getting their ears pierced count in this same category? If not, why not?

If I brush my hair in the morning, I think that makes me “prettier.” How is that different? I’m still altering my physical appearance, no?

No, you’re definitely not alone in that viewpoint. During my first year of law school, a classmate saw my tattoos and the ring in my nostril and asked me what sort of crippling self esteem problems would cause me to deface my body like that. Two and a half years later, I was sitting on the stage during graduation for having graduated at the top of my class. I often wondered if she looked up from the audience at me and thought “Hey, there’s that poor bastard with the cripplingly low self esteem!”

My nose ring is also a sign of low self eseteem? huh, that’s new! I got my nose pierced because I am Hindu and it is a Hindu thing, so I wanted to identify with my heritage.

You need to reread that a few times. You and they are different pronouns.

Clothahump, you sir are a dumbass.

But everyone knows Hindus are always depressed!

Clearly, you are suffering from psychological problems or have negative self-image and think that brushing your hair or wearing nice clothes will somehow make you “better” or “prettier” or “improved” or whatever.

Is that…Peter Sellers…in brownface?
I…I have no words.

It’s from The Party. If you haven’t seen it, it is a must. One of Seller’s best works ever and certainly a classic. Funny as hell yet it also manages to bring forth some serious social commentary for the time.

Eh, never mind. Just not my interest at all.

Zeriel. shut the fuck up. You have no concept of what I know or don’t know.

And the psychological problems are not nonexistent and imaginary. If you would care to educate your ignorant self, you might start here:

Are tattooing and body piercing indicators of risk-taking behaviours among high school students?

Sure I do, I read the bullshit you post on here.

Ah yes, two cites that say there’s some association. A far, far cry from your ignorant “They **are **people with psychological problems”. But that’s okay, I know that using “Clothahump” as a handle is associated with being a crazy douche. Your posts are my cite.

Tattoos on women are either trashy or just fine, depending on both the quality of the tattoo and the quality of the woman.
**
Tattoos on men** mean they will rape, mutilate, and disembowel you and everyone you care about, then rape them again before setting them on fire. While taking pictures.
