You fucking Nazi's really are pussies

Why would you be surprised to find that I was Methodist (used to be) or baptist or Catholic?
I apologize for a certain parnoia. When I converted to marry Mrs Plant to be in between the bet din (sp) Rabbinical court and the ritual bath, we went to a bookstore in Brookline that we frequented when I was courting her.
I saw a bookcover in a store with a sculture on the cover of dead shoa Jews, and I freaked. I had always thought that I could portect my family no matter what. Hey, this is America. I had to go outside before I stopped shaking.
There are millions of people who want to kill me because of my religion. In most cases not because of the choice to marry someone, but the cirumstances of their birth.

Anti-semite leaders before Hitler believed this. The Jews would be segregated, treated like second-class citizens, persecuted and killed from time-to-time, but this could stop if only they “came to christ.” Hitler made a point of tracing geneology of the populace in order determine who was, in his mind “genetically Jewish.” Children would be asked in school to build family trees, which aided the Nazi('s).

Yes, I would have been surprised to have learned you were a Catholic. Or gay, or atheist, or bisexual, or any other number of things. For right or wrong, I always paint a mental picture of my online friends and your being Jewish just went against what I had imagined you in my mind.

There was nothing intended by my question and I am not offended at your paranoia because I understand and even empathize considering my own (lack of) religious beliefs in an increasingly hostile country.

Well I found this on the ADL’s website:
It’s part of a press release from Foxman.

Will the film trigger pogroms against Jews? Our answer is probably not. Our concern is that “The Passion of The Christ” could fuel latent anti-Semitism that exists in the hearts of those people who hold Jews responsible for the death of Jesus, which has always been the source of Western anti-Semitism. Its portrayal of Jews is painful to watch.

He was?

Some historians think that his paternal grandfather may have been Jewish and that he was conceived while his grandmother was working for his grandfather’s well to do family.

I’ve also read that after the Third Reich annexed Austria, Hitler used his Austrian hometown (after having been evacuated) as artillery target practice and had the church (where birth records were kept) and graveyard (where his grandparents were presumably buried) destroyed but I have no idea if this is factual or not.

Actually, in Glendale, California, a suburb of LA with a large Armenian population, there are people who say this.

I rather think not.

It is not. Hitler was somewhat averse to making a big deal about his upbringing and home town(s), rebuking a German newspaper reporter who asked too many questions, at one point. However, nearly all the houses where Hitler lived as a youth along with his parents’ graves are still maintained as historical sites:

I didn’t believe it was but was just passing it along (with the disclaimer about its uncertain valdity at the end) since his upbringing was questioned.

Which gene controls keeping kosher, or wearing yarmulkes, or spelling G-d without the o or reading the Torah? If an Ashkenazi Jew with Tay Sachs converts to Christianity, does the disease go away?

Religious beliefs are not genetic.

Rabbi Hayim Halevy Donin said, in his work, To Be A Jew, (1972):

Given that Hitler was quite happy to track down Atheists, Catholics, Lutherans, and assorted other people to kill, based on the presence of any Jews in their ancestry and given that a number of people who have expressed either a disbelief in a god or a rejection of religion have identified themselves as Jewish, it would appear that drawing arbitrary lines around ethnicity or religion in order to establish a bright line categorization of Jewishness are doomed to failure.

A BTW Lib, going back to near the start of this thread … telling offensive boldfaced lies that blatantly misrepresent the positions of others is not “hyperbolic metaphor.” It is bullshit. I think that you, and any other “seasoned Doper” really know the difference.

Tom, nice quote.

At least you had the courage to identity your own post as “bullshit”. That’s more balls than most men have. […tip o’ the hat…]

Lib please identify what you think I said that was a lie. Or bullshit for that matter. My balls number two, no more than most males, btw. Quite sufficient for my purposes. I really should do regular testicular self-exam to make sure I don’t have reason to go down to one, but I don’t. But even with one I’d be man enough to admit to a mistake if I made it. Are you?

Really?

Oh… and don’t forget Peter Brzica…

My grandfather’s brother was killed under Hitler for being Catholic. Cite until he comes back to life.

DSeid, allow me to sleep off the whisky to parse your first reply properly. You see, I’d like to do it in a civil manner and avoid the personal attacks you enjoy. Ah, fuck it. D’ go fuck yourself. (and check some web searches about the OP, I never quoted anyone but I’m pooling them all together. Deal with it asshole)

You can’t do that! No reversies! I’m glue! I’m glue!

I’m sorry your grandfather’s brother was killed under Hitler’s command. Perhaps what you heard was wrong, but you can’t use this one incident to prove that Hitler hated all Catholics. How do you respond to mascoroni’s cites?

That should be mascaroni! Sorry!

Oh, sure. I’ve admitted I’m wrong lots of times. I might even be wrong this time. Don’t know. But personally, “boldface lies” and “blatantly misrepresent the positions of others” seem over the top. I would call them hyperbole, but you insisted that such things are bullshti. Unless there is some magical attribute that attaches to you, it seems reasonable to use your own measuring stick on yourself.
