You guys have to see this

This is the most amusing website I’ve seen in…well, about a week.

http://www.warehouse23.com/basement/

Fnord.

I didn’t see anything.

I opened three boxes and was too bored to continue. Am I doing it wrong? Can someone summarize what I should be experiencing?

my first box,

“You open one of the 999 boxes on this floor and find…
A desk-model Perpetual Motion Machine. It makes a good paperweight and an interesting sputtering noise”

The dumpster is far more amusing than the warehouse

Well, I thought it was funny, anyway. Maybe that says something about me as a person.

I found a hamster that refuses to do anything but run on its wheel and doesn’t seem to require food or water. I think we need to get some of those for the SDMB.

“A bottle marked “Perpetual Lotion.” As soon as you try to pick it up, it slides out of your hand, down the corridor and out of sight. Your hand, however, is now softer than a baby’s skin, and will be forever.”

this place is a gold mine

All I get is a blank white window, using Safari…

This is fabulous - thanks Sophie.

Ditto.

I found it fun, but then again, I get amused easily!

You open one of the 1000 boxes on this floor and find…

Several thousand manuscripts, each of which appears to be a flawed version of “Hamlet” (or, in one case, “Homlet”). On top of this mess is a label marked: ‘MONKEY TEST, BATCH #296-aaf09-543, TYPEWRITERs #1a THROUGH #9865cc’.

Nice.

Sphie, if you liked that, you will love the little text game called “Kingdom of Loathing.” It’s entirely full of stuff like that.

I think you mistyped your link. As it is, it just goes to MPSIMS, and if any forum here is the “Kingdom of Loathing,” it would have to be the Pit, right?

I think I just killed Schrodinger’s Cat.

Oops. Well, let’s try again. Kingdom of Loathing. Enjoy!

I got a rock.

It reminds me of a textual version of an online dumpster diver page I saw years back. I can’t seem to locate it now (perhaps it’s gone), but diving in would reward you with a picture of a random piece of rubbish, be it a fast food container or an old shoe.

By the way, this is totally OT (except that KoL tangentally reminded me of it) but there was an online game I played wayyyy back in the multiline BBS days that was essentially a text-based mutliplayer game in which you battled creatures and other players and stuff, but there was no set maze. Instead, it consisted of either a small cube of a specific size or a randomly generated small maze, and the maze could be expanded by users by blowing holes in walls, thus creating an infinitely large maze (given enough time). Anyone remember it and know what it was called? And is there such a thing online these days? I found it rather fun.
