You have seriously over-estimated my curiosity

He is hard of hearing, and I know that’s a factor, but he’s started the monologue habit before his hearing really begin to go. My grandmother has started to do the same thing, but she’s more likely to ask questions and actually engage in conversational give-and-take.

I have a time vampire at work- she constantly is at my office/cube doorway waiting to chat with me. Yesterday I was calling my home voicemail to check for messages and I looked up and saw her. I said “I’m on hold- do you need help?” and she said “No, I just wanted to chat. I can wait.” I nearly shit. I told her “I’m going to be about an hour.”

She sighed and said “OK- see you later!” and left. WTF??? Standing there waiting for me to get off the phone so you can suck my time? Bugger off! I don’t care about so and so in accounting or who is fucking whom. Get lost!

(She’s my boss’s wife so I can’t do a damned thing about it, either)

The madcowmccoy post is actually mine. I was posting from a university library computer earlier, and by coincidence chanced upon one with madcow still logged onto the SDMB. I’m sorry not to check before posting, and I’ve e-mail Lynn to see if it can be deleted.
