You may force the cancellation of any one show currently on televison. Which one?

Someday, ask me about how one woman single-handedly killed the SciFi Network and a bunch of its shows by thinking it was a SWELL idea to bring on the wrestling as MUCH as possible. She then moved on to the USA Network…

The TV Guide channel. It’s basically one endless program, right? The same scrolling grid, 24 hours a day, with promotional fluff in the nested window. The writing is exceptionally poor (“Dr House examines patient with mysterious illness” — who has the illness here? or is the illness an analytical tool? clarity, people!) and the whole thing is just ridiculously predictable (“ooo, channel 37! I wonder what’s next! wow, channel 38! never saw that coming!”). Television is already aimed at the lowest common denominator, but this show merely establishes how incredibly low that denominator really is.

Or the Larry King show, for similar reasons.

Does it have to be TV? I’d like to see Rush fired.

They put a half hour version on in the afternoons now and without all the time wasting and “Are you sure?” it’s really entertaining.

Welcome to the pain that is my life. My SO watches both Wrestling (WWE and TNA) as well as Nancy Grace. He’s also borderline addicted to what used to be the Court TV channel. Police shows, forensic shows and the like.

I’m not sure I could pick just one to cancel, but if forced I would probably chooce Nancy Grace.

Is John Edwards still on? Because his show is one that is actually evil, as opposed to annoying.

I’ve no idea what the show is called but the description alone just sounds potentially abusive to an innocent channel surfer. There’s some blonde, cowboy-hatted rocker who apparently is an ex-never even has been, for whatever that’s worth, that goes on the show and test drives bimbos pathetic enough to date him. Was he with Poison or something? It just sounds stupid beyond belief and I’m scared to death someday I’m accidentally going to stumble across it.

I’d cancel CNN/FOX news - the idea of 24 hour in your face news coverage has directly lead to the fear mongering society we live in where everyone considers everyone else to be an enemy. It is this ‘news’ coverage that elevates the most unlikely of events to a national/international concern - causes gas prices to jump because ‘someone’ thinks they might (leads to locals buying up more than they need becasuse someone quotes their might be a shortage), and due to the sheer number of ‘opinion’ pieces, no one can tell what is objective reporting anymore.

TV is about entertainment, what you and I find entertaining can be very different, but that usually does not affect everyone on a base level - these ‘news’ channels do.

I feel the same way about baseball and I’d eagerly rip its heart out on an Aztec altar for what it did to Futurama.

I have never forgiven the Oliver North trial for preempting Scooby Doo when I was a kid.

I realize I am alone in this room, but House. I hate it and want it to go away so people will stfu about it. I’ve dealt with enough asshole doctors in real life to ever EVER want to see them romanticized on television.

Not to disagree with your assessment of John Ghoulwards, but do you mean to imply that Nancy Grace **isn’t **evil? Because I’d need a cite for that. A LOT of cites, as extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and her not being evil is up there with the invisible, intangible, cold-fire breathing dragon in my garage.

 I haven’t had TV for a good while (personal choice). I find myself watching it though, if it is on in a bar. Well, a few months ago I looked up and it turns out Deal or No Deal was on. I had never heard of the show. I hadn’t seen/heard about/thought of Howie Mandell since St Elsewhere days.

So, I said, “OMG. Is that Howie Mandell?”

Someone nearby told me it was.

I then said, “What kinda cancer does he have?”

:smack::smack::smack:

Wow, that’s pretty harsh and judgmental and has nothing to to with the OP!

Football running long is responsible for Futurama’s ouster, not baseball (which ran on Saturday afternoons anyway).

Don’t blame the great American game for something so heinous.

Had no idea who she was until I checked out her entry on wiki. Yes, it looks like she goes into the evil camp also.

Since you are nearly a Grace virgin, I feel obliged to give you this counsel:

Do not watch her show. Do not watch her show. DO NOT WATCH HER SHOW!!!

Seriously. Go to whatever lengths are necessary to avoid it. Find out when it is aired so that you do not accidentally view even a moment of it. Memorize her appearance so that can avoid her. Save yourself.

I was going to take issue with the “racist” accusation, but then I realized you meant the human race. And were, therefore, correct.

Actually I meant the non-Aryan races. She’ll give endless attention to any missing damsel of European extract, but all-but-none to missing persons of other races. If I can persuade Kimmy to post, you can read her venomous screen on what Grace would do if she were missing, as she looks white but identifies as black.

Fair enough. My reasoning was that I honestly couldn’t think of any group that NG doesn’t appear to hate. An equal opportunity hater, if you will. Of course I hadn’t considered the victims, whom she either lionizes or ignores. Which is, of course, your point.
