"You were logged out"

Not sure if this is an ATMB issue or a site feedback issue, or neither. I just had that happen, a “You were logged out” message. I logged back in with no problem, but if I’ve ever had it happen before it was enough years ago that I don’t remember it. Definitely rates as an extremely unusual event for me. Thoughts? Did this happen to more people just now? Some unusual confluence of events that caused it to happen to me specifically when it normally doesn’t? Hacking attempt?

Any question about board software is Site Feedback. ATMB is to discuss issues about the board’s rules, content, and moderator actions.

That said, I’ve been logged out here before. Generally it is because of something that happened to my browser (like clearing cache to fix another problem).

'Zactly. Cleared cache, deleted cookies, etc. Other than that I’d take it as a pure glitch.

Since this is about Discourse software, let’s move this to Site Feedback (from ATMB).

I had it happen to me once when I was logged in during a software update. Only once though.

The last update was May 22 though so probably unrelated to the OP.

It happened to me too today. No message but a big red login button appeared in the navigation bar. No problem logging in again.

For another data point - this happened to me a few days ago but it did not allow me to log back in - it said that my username and password didn’t match. I figured I’d give it a day or two to see if it reset on its own or something. But just now it still wouldn’t allow me to log in - I had to reset my password. Having done that I seem to be in good shape - but it did require me to change my password.
