Your all time favorite band?

Green Day. There is none better. I’ve seen them live and it was the greatest experience of my life. I can’t wait till they come around here again.

Bob Marley and the Wailers. I also have a penchant for Led Zeppelin.

NOFX/Punk in Drublic but they have been only for the past year or so. Previous top bands in my life would be:
Soundgarden/BadMotorFinger
Nirvana/Bleach
Led Zeppelin/II
and for most of my formitive high school growing years
Aerosmith/Toys in the Attic, but alas they sold there soul to Kid Rock, Nsync and Young Miss Spears thus abandoning any credibility they had left after releasing Permanant Vacation(and every album since).
Dead0man

Ike…

Thank goodness I’m not the only one who picked Queen (love your username BTW). For sheer entertainment value, I don’t think you can beat them. It would be hard to pick a favorite album, any of the pre-Hot Space discs would qualify.

Favorite Band: Replacements, followed closely by Ramones in 2d place

Favorite Replacements album: Either “Let it Be” or “Hootenany”

Favorite Replacements song: “Favorite Thing” or a number of other songs depending onb my mood.

CCR

Hello, I’m a Dead head. Favorite song? That would have to be Help on the Way/Slipknot/Franklin’s Tower (sorry, it pretty much counts as one song). Favorite album isn’t Blues for Allah (which contained Help/Slip/Frank), but Anthem of the Sun. Have I seen them in concert and were they any good? Roughly 75 shows between 1982 and 1993 - and they were incomparably great on good nights and incredibly mediocre on not so good nights.

I’ll be damned - Good Creek got mentioned. I bought their first album at a used record store about a year ago for a dime.

**Luna ** – Penthouse seen 3x

Zepplin, no doubt about it.
Physical Graffetti for favorite album.
Sorry, all their songs are my favorite.
Never saw them as a band but have seen Page and Plant both together and singly many, many times.

Number one favorites of all time:

Metallica - Hopelessly addicted. I must listen every day.

Aerosmith

Guns n Roses - Created some of my best artwork with “Appetite” in the background.

I know the question asks for only one, but I am going to give two because they represent two different styles of music.

Rock:

Meat Puppets
Seen them live in DC, unbelievable
Favorite Album: Met Puppets II
Favorite song: Split Myself in Two

Folk:

The Clancy Brothers
Seen them live several times, with Robbie O’Connell, great
Favorite Album: Come Fill Your Glass With Us: Irish Songs Of Drinking and Blackguarding
Favorite Song: Home, Boys, Home

Oh, goody, a ‘favourite band’. I have so many that compete for the title, but I guess I’d better narrow it down to the Einstürzende Neubauten (I’m listening to them right now.) for being a really neat band, and the Beatles just because.

That’s why I never post in Great Debates.

I was about to write “Stryper” but knew that that couldn’t be right. A quick Google search reveals that my favorite band is Wilco, favorite album is “Being There”, and I’m going to see them in the spring if they come to nyc.

Not “Tim”?! goodness gracious! I’ll let you slide on this one.

The Allman Brothers Band. Saw them in D.C. in '71 on the tour that produced the “Live at The Fillmore East” album, before Duane’s death that fall. Was that really 30 years ago? Saw them in various incarnations four times since.

Can’t hear “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed” too often.

yes yes, GNR!!
they are probably my fav. band of all time.

they created some classic tunes and solos and their image and everything is just awesome! All I could ever want in a hard rock band!

The Offspring, and Green Day, and No Doubt.

happy sigh Listening to any and all of their CDs make me happy and nostalgic (or angry and depressed…hm…) Lately Third Eye Blind and Staind has been doing me good, too.

Can never top the Beatles, Pink Floyd or…drum roll please Everclear. Awesome.

Rolling Stones. Hell, that’s their nickname: “Best Rock n Roll Band in the World.” How could I not like them?

Favorite songs: Under My Thumb, Sympathy for the Devil, Mother’s Little Helper

Fave albums: Aftermath, Tattoo You

Haven’t seen them in concert, but would like to.

The Allmans. I was lucky enough to catch them with Duane when I was a kid. Actually found two tickets in the street one night while walking home. They were the opening band for Johnny Winter.
And they still kick ass! I can watch Warren Haynes play all night long.
Honorable mention … Spirit, Grateful Dead of course, Govt Mule, Steve Kimock Band. I love all that light up / hippie jam band stuff.
