Your MOST Favorite band! (rock on!)

When I think about : Who is my most favorite band?..I would have to say…Van Halen. I have enjoyed more of “Van Halen’s” songs over the years than any other band. Now that I have mentioned my “MOST favorite band,” what is yours?

3 way tie

Pearl Jam
Dave Matthews Band
Jimmy Buffett

But i think that PJ might have a slight edge over the other 2.

Dead Kennedys.

You couldn’t PAY me enough to answer this question on a public message board.

Fetish fine, FRPG no sweat, but not my all time favorite band. ::shakes head:: nope.

The Eagles.

(Yes, I’m closer to 40 than 30.)

Goose Creek Symphony

The Reverend Horton Heat. The Dickies. It’s a toss-up.

Hey, vandal. Nice to see another punk rock fan here.

It’s this obscure progressive rock trio from Toronto, Canada. You probably wouldn’t know them.

what, Bryan Adams backing group?
:: d&r ::
oh, and Primal Scream rock.

Watch yourself, Larrigan, or I’ll tie you up to a chair and make you listen to the Kelly Family all day

[whining] Sometimes… I wish I was an Angel…

My god, what a travesty of music. 17 German Crusties all being driven about by their Dad, singing songs to make impressionable [read: Stupid] teenage Girls Cry and Hold Candles at their live shows.
Kelly Family… dont let me find you. You’re all going down…

The Bonzo Dog Band (aka, the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band).

The most amazing band ever – think Monty Python as musicians. Good musicians. Their instrumentals could make you laugh out loud. You can find out all about them at the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band page.

(BTW, many of Monty Python’s songs were written by Neil Innes of the Bonzos after the group broke up).

Gotta be Cowboy Mouth from NEW ORLEANS LOUISIANA! (Are you WITH ME?!?!?!)

There’s a reason we mouth fans are called “The Hardest Working Audience In Show Business”! I’ve seen a ba-zillion bands lives and they bring it out every time.

Coldfire! I’ve been a Rushfan™ for almost 20 years now (I first saw them on the GUP tour). Be careful how you bring them up. I might just have to whip you with my 100+ live tape collection with shows that date from FBN to CP.

Are you WITH me?!?!?!?

Grace Under Pressure. Fly By Night. Counterparts. I’m SO with you, brother! Can I get an Amen?

(As for the “unknown prog-rock trio”-angle: I was joking :D)

Depends on what mood I’m in.

Tom Waits
The Damned
Yeah Yeah Noh
Railroad Jerk
Spaceman 3
Mr. Quintron

…and more I’m not in the mood to mention.

Ok, I’ve heared of like 1 of these bands…I must be too young

What I prefer to have in my car cd player:

The Pogues
The Replacements
James McMurtry

What usually winds up there:

Raffi
Sesame Street

The scary part is that oftentimes I leave those in even when I am alone in the car.

Bad Brains

And they’ve my favorite rock band since I was 12. I’ve never gotten sick of them, and I still think their music is amazing.

This 3 man outfit from Boston called Guster. http://www.guster.com . They’re fun.
The Pixies.
When I’m depressed, Everclear. And I don’t care if they DID do a Gap commercial.
There’s a lot of other bands that I enjoy, but those are the ones I love. (ps: Guess who’s getting free Chili Pepper tickets? ME! Lalalalalaaa!!!)

Actually, yeah! When I was living in Raleigh, NC, I saw them at G105’s Big Shindig in '97. G105 had been playing a couple of their songs for about a month before the show and I liked them, but when I saw them live, it blew me away! Great live band!

As for my favorite. I have two (depending on my mood):

Ben Folds Five
The Tragically Hip (best live band–EVER)
