Relative order of evening events change, so tonight I will get home, prep and eat dinner, then have Choir, Gym Class, and Open Mic night all on the go. It’s a busy day.

Soon, I will drive to work early (same alarm time), workout then dress for work, and use my shortened lunch break to play guitar by the pond outside the office, sitting in the shade …

I lead a very relaxed lifestyle.

9:30 or 10 AM: Wake up w/o alarm when I’m done sleeping. Feed dog, pee, let dog outside, let dog in.
10 AM - 2 PM: Work from home.
2 PM: Eat lunch at home
2 PM - 5 PM: Work from home.
5 PM: Take dog to my parents’ and walk around the block with mom and dog.
6 PM: Go to gym for 1-2 hours, pick up dog from parents’ and take her home.
7 PM or 8 PM: Dinner then shower
9 PM or 10 PM: Go to bed and watch The Daily Show & Colbert and whatever other TV I have downloaded
1 AM: Sleep

6 a.m. alarm starts my day. I get up, make my daughter breakfast and get her clothes together (if it’s not done the night before) and start my “hurry up you only have… minutes” countdown, otherwise she’ll never get out of bed.

7 I drive her to school and come back home to get ready for work. All the basics: shower, teeth, breakfast, read the Dope and check my mail/FB.

8 off to the church where I spend an hour watching TED talks or studying Spanish until my boss is ready for me to get to work.

1:30 off work, drive to get daughter from school

If it’s M or F we go to speech/OT. Friday morning I’m off so I see my therapist and get the shopping done for the week. Other days we do homework, home therapy, or just hang out a while.

Around 5 I’ll start dinner, done by 6 or so. We’ll have a little internet time or play Sims 2, daughter will get a bath most nights, then she’s in bed at 8 where we’ll read a while together. We don’t have a TV but if she’s particularly restless (and she has been lately!) we’ll watch an episode of King of the Hill on Netflix in bed with back scratchings and snuggles. She really digs KOTH.

She’s usually asleep by 9 and that’s when I go out and suck the blood from young virgins.
Oh wait I mean I surf online or watch a few shows on Hulu. On the weekends we both stay up a little later and if I’m lucky, my older daughter will be in the mood to hang out with us.

This is my default schedule if nothing else occurs, such as travel or a social event.

A.M.:
5 AM wake up as the melatonin tab wears off
6 AM usually give up trying to fall back asleep, get up, then check on my Ebay and Amazon buying and selling
7 AM eat light breakfast, usually a bowl of oatmeal, take vitamins, feed dog
8 AM to 11 AM study, take a couple breaks to research online or check Ebay
11 AM retrieve incoming mail, watch TV
NOON eat lunch, watch TV
P.M.:
1 PM to 5 PM play music, watch TV, maybe a movie, read, go to post office if there’s any outgoing mail to deliver, go on errands if any
5 PM to 6 PM fix dinner, eat dinner, watch TV, computer
6 PM to 6:30 PM go for walk
6:30 PM to 7 PM exercise barbells and weight machine while watching Who Want To Be A Millionaire?
7PM to 7:30 PM watch Jeopardy
7:30 PM to 8 PM computer internet, snack
8PM to 10 PM read novel, poetry, and anything missed earlier in the day
10 PM to 11 PM watch TV, computer
11 PM take melatonin, brush teeth, go to bed

5:30 AM. Awaken spontaneously, get out of bed.
5:45 AM. Leave for work, with espresso. Listen to podcasts
6:45 AM. Arrive at work. Save lives, do paperwork.
3:30 PM. Leave work. Listen to podcasts
4:30 PM. Arrive at home
4:30-10:30 PM. Do entertaining things with spouse, computer, both. Hot tub is often involved, but not with computer.
10:30 PM. Go to sleep

This is one of those threads that everyone wants to post in but nobody really wants to read any of the posts.

I thought that too, but then I kept on reading them. GreenElf is living the dream!

Would it be a violation of board rules to just copypasta the entire text of Joyce’s Ulysses in here?

I forgot to mention doing the dishes, usually in the morning, and yard work during the summer months. :frowning:

Me too!

Totally!

Oh, you poor dear.

And now, for Dung Beetle, if no one else:

4:00am - Cat knocks stuff off my dresser to tell me he’s hungry. Stumble downstairs to feed him, then back to bed.

Some time between 5:00am and 6:00am - Kid wakes up. If it’s my day to get up with him, stumble back downstairs to get him some juice, then play with him, get him dressed and feed him a little breakfast.

7:00am - If husband isn’t already awake, get him up and send him to the shower, while I play with the kid.

7:30am - Husband takes kid off to daycare, I shower and get ready for work, clean the litterbox, take out the garbage.

8:00 - Leave for work.

8:15am - Pick up a bagel and coffee.

8:30am - Sit down at desk. Do work, interspersed with SDMB

11:45am - Head out to pick up lunch, eat at desk while working/Doping

5:00pm - Leave work, pick up kid at daycare

5:30pm - Arrive home, feed the cat, husband and I make dinner/play with kid

6:00pm - Dinner, then some tidying up/playing with kid

7:00pm - Bedtime for kiddo. Also a joint effort. Bath, PJs, story, warm milk.

7:45pm - Husband puts kid to bed while I wash dishes and watch Law and Order or Bones. Then we clean the kitchen, tidy the rest of the house as much as possible, and maybe make some food for dinner tomorrow. If we need groceries or anything else that can’t wait until the weekend, one of us will run out.

8:30 - Read for a bit, or log in to work and get a little more done.

9:00 - Watch King of the Hill, finish up work.

Between 9:30pm and 10:00pm - Lights out, try to fall asleep by 11:00.

I actually am reading them, but don’t want to post 'cause it’s very boring  Recently laid off, and currently much of my time is spent avoiding the crap I know I want to get done. I will get bored soon and finally do it. Really.

I do, however, waken immediately when I do wake up; none of this snooze bit, uck! All I do is spend the 9 minutes waiting for the alarm to go off; the few times I have used it, I invariably say “Screw it” and get up and TURN it off so I can stop waiting for it. >.<

So right now the only things for certain are:

7:15 Mr. Tao opens the bedroom door and lets the cats in, on his way out to work. Cats MEEEORRW and jump all over me in a clearly annoyed fashion, as if to say “MOM MOM MOM MOM MOM where have you BEEN?!”. It’s the same every day, except on the odd occasion I decide to let them sleep with us. As this results in my spending the whole night not sleeping, trying NOT to squish or displace a cat, I generally kick them out at bedtime.

11:00-ish p.m. Head to bed and watch Family Guy and whatnot until I fall asleep, generally by midnight.
All the rest in between is currently on a no-schedule basis.

Eat* lots *of bacon
Watch new and weather
Ski in winter, ride motorcycles in summer, or hang around and tinker with cars/motorcycles and tackle housework (dishes, laundry and the constant minor repairs, etc)
Start drinkin’ beer
Take the boy and dogs for a Jeep ride/run
Keep drinkin’ beer
Make dinner
That beer thing!
Watch more TV, maybe play drums (badly), hang out by the fire
“Sleep”

Thanks, Dorkness.

I’m not going to break it down into pointless minutiae. My days go like this:

  • I wake up.
  • If I showered the night before, I fix my hair. If I didn’t, I take a shower.
  • I go to work.
  • I come home from work.
  • I go to sleep.

lather, rinse, repeat.

I hate my life.

2:30 a.m. - Dog saunters into bedroom, sits next to the bed with her head 1’ from mine and exhales loudly until I wake. She has an expression on her face that says, “Shall I pee here on the carpet or will you get your ass up and let me out?”

2:31 - Get up, let dog out.

2:33 - Let dog in.

Rest of the day - Whatever I feel like.

5:15am Alarm goes off.
5:22am Smash snooze button
5:29am Bash snooze button
5:36am Punch snooze button and think about getting up.
5:45am Jump out of bed frantically so I am not late.
5:45am-6:10am Drink tea, watch news, have breakfast.
6:10am Shower
6:30am First wake up call for daughter
6:31am Feed dogs, get daughter’s uniform ready, watch some more news.
6:45am Start daughter’s shower
6:50am Yell at daughter that she is wasting water and GET IN NOW.
6:51am Put out daughter’s and dog’s breakfast.
7:00am Bang on bathroom door for daughter to get out of shower.
7:01am Dry and style hair
7:15am Nag daughter to please eat just a little.
7:16am Makeup and dress
7:30am Throw daughter’s uneaten breakfast away and tell her to go brush her teeth.
7:35am Drive daughter to school.
7:50-8:45 Commute to work
9am-6:30pm work
6:30pm Grocery shop or pick up something for dinner.
7:30pm arrive home, throw a dinner together and check daughter’s homework.
8:30pm Load of laundry, clean up kitchen, clean up dog poop from yard while listening to an audio book.
9:30pm Nag daughter to get off facebook and go to bed.
10pm Nag daughter to get off her iphone and go to bed.
10:15pm Read or listen to audiobook until I fall asleep.

My days are always different. I’m a shift worker so there’s no routine to speak of.

I do basically the same things every day, it’s just that the start time varies depending on my shift at work that day.

For instance, today:

4:30 – Up and in the shower.
4:45 – Grazing, Internet, and TV
5:30 – Depart for work.
6:00 – Punch in.
1:00 – Punch out, on the way to class. Hit McD’s on the way.
1:40 – Arrive at campus for a 2p physics lab.
2:00 – Lab starts.
3:30 – Lab ends, head to Panera.
5:00 – Leave Panera, head back to campus for physics lecture.
5:30 – Lecture starts.
6:45 – Lecture ends.
7:15 – Home, start dinner.
7:30 – Eat, homework, TV, Internet until prob midnight.

Tomorrow, I’ll get up at 10 and leave at 11:45, cause I don’t work til 12:15. Home at 9:30, make dinner and eat, and prob in bed by midnight again since I have an 11-hour shift starting Saturday at 10a (til 9p), followed by a 6a to 3p shift Sunday.

No class again until Tuesday, though.

I don’t have any set wakeup / go-to-bed times, and that’s the ONLY part of my life I wish I could change.

4:00 - 5:30: a risk that the baby will want her early bottle and I’ll have to get up to give it to her
5:30 - 7:30: husband takes the baby monitor, I fall back into deep sleep
7:30: up. coffee.
8:00: give the baby her breakfast, eat the leftovers for my own, then morning playtime
10:00: morning nap. take my shower.
11:30: she is awake. we eat lunch, I clean the kitchen while she finishes, then we go out for errands
1:00: back from errands, playtime
2:30: the daily walk. put snacks on her stroller tray. she eats so well while she’s distracted…
3:00: afternoon nap. collapse on the sofa and surf the web.
4-4:30: she wakes up. short playtime, then I give her her bath so she’s squeaky clean for dad.
5:30: my husband gets home. he takes her to his workshop while I cook dinner, fold laundry, and have a drink
6:30: dinner time
7:00: baby bedtime; takes about 30 minutes
7:30: collapse on sofa with husband to watch TV
9:00: he goes to bed; I stay up on my computer until I’m ready to sleep, anywhere from 9:15 - 11.
