Your Campaign Walk-On Music

You’re running for political office (didn’t know that, did you? about time I filled you in! :D), something high enough up the ladder that it involves lots of staged appearances, complete with your own walk-on music (aka walk-up or walk-out music) when you go on stage. Apparently it’s something that candidates do nowadays.

So: what’s your walk-on music?

I’m going with “Ain’t No Man” by the Avett Brothers. No particular reason, just an upbeat song of recent vintage that I identify with. Seems like a good song to put a bounce in my step as I walk on stage.

“Me So Horny” by 2 Live Crew. That outta “grab 'em” right out of the gate.

(At this point, seemingly nothing is a disqualifer anymore)

Exassens - “My Hands Are Planets”

Going Mobile by the Who

The Who - Going Mobile - YouTube

Weird Al’s “Dare to be Stupid”

“Turn It On Again” by Genesis.

“One…two…three…four” (bursts dramatically onstage, crowd goes crazy)

I’ve talked about having Axel F play whenever I walk.

Go All The Way – The Raspberries

Desolation Row, Bob Dylan

Walking onstate: Bob Dylan’s “Workingman’s Blues”

Walking offstage: Pink Floyd’s “Welcome to the Machine”

This tune fits most any circumstance.

On: Molly Hatchet - “Flirtin’ With Disaster.”

Off: Tom Lehrer - “We’ll All Go Together When We Go.” or
Jefferson Airplane - “Wooden Ships.”

Carmina Burana or Night on Bald Mountain.

Vote for Sefton! He’ll end all your problems!

“Hall of the Mountain King”-Walk out when it hits the crescendo. (Undecided as to a classic or rock version).

Link to ELO version.

Work Song - Paul Butterfield

“Killer Wolf” by Danzig.

Merle Haggard ‘Rainbow Stew’

I’m going with Battle Without Honor or Humanity.

The Theme from Shaft.

Can you dig it?

“The Mob Rules”, or “Last in Line”
