This is a bit of a hijack, but I’m glad no one has mentioned the new Toyota Celica. It’s the ugliest thing on the road.
A 4x4 suburban with 17 inch rims and a 454 diesel engine w/ lots of noise.
And two railroad ties lashed to the bumpers.
First, so glad that you’re okay, Michelle! Bummer about the car, but as long as you’re okay, that’s the main thing.
My dream car isn’t a car, it’s a minivan. Okay, so laugh! I LIKE minivans. I’m currently driving a '95 Dodge Grand Caravan, forest green in color, the SE, with lots of power goodies. With any luck, tomorrow I may be driving a 2000 deep cranberry(out of the deep amethyst) Chrysler Grand Voyager, SE, with lots of power goodies, of course. sigh. We’ll see in the morning. What can I say, I’m a Mom who drives half the neighborhood around in it! Great for long road trips, too. And there is one special trip I’m going to make this summer.
Now, just dreaming, I’d love to find a '63 Chevy Impala convertible, shiny black.(memories!) That, or a Jaguar!
You sing in my consciousness like a counterpoint to my life.

That’s my name, not a description. I am neither purple nor a bear. Okay, so I’m purple.<a true Wally original!>
Michelle, as a former magnet for accidents, I can sympathize and am also glad you’re all right.
My dream car would be the first one I owned - a '67 T-Bird (one of the Glamourbird years!) 390 V-8, recently overhauled. Man, that thing could run like a scalded dog! Unfortunately, it was totalled less than a year after I got it. Take one Rain-slick 2-lane backroad + 2 inexperienced drivers and you’ve lost yourself a fine ride. At least no one was hurt, since we were both surrounded by good Detroit steel…
Michi, babe (oh yeah, go ahead and kick me for calling you such), I am glad you surfaced with flesh wounds alone. The downside is something you already know about. The upside is, despite the hassles, you’re moving into a new car.
I already live in it.
BMW 735i, not new but very accomodating. And tougher than leather.
Best car I’ve ever owned.
It goes fast and has the most accomodating seats I’ve ever encountered. And roars like a mad falcon.
All I’d ask from a car…
Michelle, glad you’re okay. Sorry that your car is not.
Well, I’m kinda weird. I drive a Benz ML320 (the SUV), but my dream car is a restored Karmann Ghia soft-top. Painted hot pink.
::swoon::
mangeorge: It IS nice to see you here. I look like a newbie by my post count, but take a look at my registration date. I’m a long time lurker and you’ve always been one of my favorites!
My kids brighten up our home. They never turn the lights off. -A Wallyism
No cars for me, please - but if I could just sell my (rather nice) Aprilia motorcycle, I’d buy a yellow BMW R1100S as fast as I could. With Corbin Beetle bags - Wow.
It looks great, it sounds great (those things are important, OK ?) and it’s a blast to ride - no speed limit on the Autobahn.
Unfortunately, the market for sporty two-strokes is a bit slow for the time being, so I’ll probably ride my RS250 for another season - not that I’m going to regret that for a second. (FTR, it too looks great, sounds like a chainsaw and turns like a Spitfire…)
I miss riding.

Hey, Michelle, glad you are okay. Florida needs all the nice folks it can get.
We (Marcie and I) want a van with a camper conversion. We are looking at various ones now and hope to buy in the next couple of years.

A black 2-door Ford falcon, just like the one my dad used to have; though upholstered this time.
I’ll take a '64 GTO with a 500hp 455…wait I already have one…
Now this is my kind of thread! I’m a big automotive fan.
I’m considering trading in my Volvo AWD wagon for the Audi quattro A6 4.2L with all the toys.
That’ll be the family hauler.
My own car, a 2000 Jetta GLX will be upgraded in couple of years with the the 4Motion platform or I may simply choose that monster S4 from Audi.
Speed limit? What speed limit?!
I’d love a 1974 Pinto. If I can’t find one of those I’d settle for a Porsche 959.
Gee, I don’t think any of us expected him to say that.
We already have bimmer and beamer fans so I’ll cast my vote for a BMW that doesn’t exist, at least not any more. I’d like to see them revive the two door six series. The big six cylinder engine is gone but the 4.0l V8 wouldn’t be much to complain about.
The new Jaguar S class. Forest green with camel interior, and all the power goodies.

Some people say that cats are sneaky, evil, and cruel. True, and they have many other fine qualities as well.
I’ve been drooling over a BMW Z3 for a year now. Yes, I could afford it… but those $800/month payments would hurt a bit. I’m thinking dark blue with tan leather interior. The only thing that worries me is that if it’s my only car, it’ll be a bitch. I’d be surprised if I could fit 4 bags of groceries in it, and forget trying to bring my bicycle anywhere.
I’d go for the Z8 instead…V8 power baby!
Sue Duhnym –
you mean something like this ?
It’s got to be the new Volkswagen Beetle, lime green or silver. They’re just so cute! It’s definitely the kind of car I’m going to get when I move out of my parents house.
Lexus LS-400.
I’m perfectly happy with my current car, 91 Acura Legend L, it’s all suped up and in mint shape does 0-60 mph in 6.6 sec., soundproofed, smooooth ride oyea OYEAH!!!
sorry I just had an orgasm (j/k).
If at first you don’t succeed you’re about average.
