Your favorite dance from a TV show

I’ve been searching for a clip of it online, but can’t seem to find one. But I did want to throw out there for your consideration: Steve Martin and Gilda Radner’s “romantic fantasy” dream dance parody from an early SNL episode.

The day after Radner died, Martin happened to be hosting SNL. In place of an opening monologue, he re-introduced the clip and then looked as if he was fighting back a tear or two as he paid his quick respects to her.
Oh Sit! You beat me to it Astorian!

When I first saw the thread title I was like “there are dances from tv shows??” But so far there are a lot of great examples that totally slipped my mind!

My contribution: Hal’s epic roller-dances in Malcolm in the Middle

Batgirl also got a dance number worked into the plot for her. Makes sense since Yvonne Craig was a dancer, and her high-kicks were her signature ‘action’ move.

Wait a sec… got the greatest of all here! (Astonished all the Trekkers left this one to me!)

I thought of posting this one, but just couldn’t bring myself to do it! :frowning:

The title of the Steve Martin/Gilda Radner sketch is “Dancing in the Dark,” BTW. It was in the same episode where Steve performed “King Tut.”

Quite possibly the best episode of ***SNL ***ever!

This one’s easy.

And fucking gross, too!

Dexter’s “Pool Boy” dance

CHRIS ELLIOT IS FUCKING GOD (this one I could watch all day)

As an aside, she was also Natasha, the Bolshoi ballerina, opposite James Coburn in ***In Like Flint ***(1966). (Not to mention Marta, the whacko Orion slave girl, in one of the TOS clips above.) :o

Sorry, but you’ve all got it wrong. HAS to be the Hucklebuck!

Short but sweet from Monty Python.

Ivanova’s “human sex” dance from B5.

1 Artie.

Star Trek aliens were all vaguely Middle Eastern, don’t you think?
I got one! Ross and Rachel’s The Routine.

In an ep of Everybody Loves Raymond, Robert finds himself the only white guy in a black club. Dancing ensues.

They’re dancing to Lakeside’s Fantastic Voyage. A song that I watch the video to at least once a year because I like old shit and the absurd.

Gene Gene the Dancing Machine!

Xander and Anya in Buffy’s Once More with Feeling

You need to have watched the whole episode for context, but The Maya Dance from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is pretty brilliant.

River Tam dancing with the village folks in Firefly. (Couldn’t find a clip, sorry.)
