Your favorite pie?

You see it around here so much: “when come back, bring pie?”

“Did you bring pie?”

Ad infinitum.

So - what’s your favorite pie?
I love all the fruit pies, but my favorite pie is banana cream. Yummmmmm!

I could really go for a nice slice of French Silk pie right now. With a big glass of cold milk. Mmmm…

I’ll see both those pies and raise you a cherry and/or a peach pie a la mode.

After my heart, you are. Cherry, among all the novelty pies, is the absolute King (and/or Queen) of pies, IMHO.

Rhubarb. Hot with a big ol’ scoop of vanilla.

meat
but if we’re talking about dessert-style, then Pecan (which a dab of cool whip on top, mmmm).

I’m with Boney. Meat pies are to die for. I have a meat pie recipe that you probably would die for, it’s soooo goooood.

But if it has to be sweet, then make it a pumpkin pie. No berries or anything inordinately sweet. Nothing mushy. And I positively hate apple pies.

In order of delicious-osity:

[li]Strawberry-rhubarb[/li][li]Blueberry[/li][li]Blackberry cobbler (yeah…it’s not pie…so sue me!) [/li][li]Pumpkin[/li][li]Apple[/li][/ol]

Great…now I want pie. Not “some” pie…a whole pie.

Pizza Pie. Jewel, Chef’s Kitchen, Frozen, Thin and Crispy Deluxe.

Dessert Pie - French Silk. With a big glass of cold milk, just like h.sapiens said.

Strawberry-rhubarb

Mmmmmm. I eat a slice maybe once a year.

In order of preference:

  1. Sour cream and raisin pie
  2. Strawberry/rhubarb pie
  3. Gooseberry pie
  4. Rhubarb pie
  5. Punkin pie

There’s always room for pie.

Key Lime pie. And my grandmother’s apple pie.

Chess Pie. I never see it anymore; I need to learn to make it. It’s a little like a pecan pie without the pecans, except you use sugar, not corn syrup. It can also be flavored with chocolate or lemon.

I love good old-fashioned pecan pie, too.

Any type of custard pie is yummy, as well.

I despise goo pies. You know, fruit pies with that runny corn syrup/artificial flavor/color shite.

Oh, man! How to choose?

Cherry
Dutch apple (with raisins)
Key lime
Lemon meringue
Chocolate
Pumpkin
Peach
Rhubarb

…you name it! I like pie.

Oh, yeah, thanks for reminding me, LunaV! I love real Key Lime Pie, too.

Lemon, baby.

mmmmmmm, cream pies

uh, I mean blueberry!

no, apple!

wait, no, blueberry! yeah, that’s the one.

I have always wanted to try Key Lime Pie - can anyone explain to me what it tastes like? Is it tangy? Sweet??

Oh, yeah - I haven’t had one in years - like, since I lived in Florida! If there’s one thing that will get me ranting & raving, it’s when someone tries to pass off one of those green-food-coloring-doctored-cheesecake-monstrosity-imposters as “Key Lime Pie”!!

Clue One, you morons: Key Limes aren’t green!! They’re almost yellow!

Oh, and it’s supposed to be meringue on top, not whipped cream!!!

(Suit yourself on the pastry vs. graham-cracker crust issue. I’m not totally inflexible.)

Missy2U, a true Key Lime Pie is very much like a lemon meringue pie, except that the Key Lime has a more delicate flavor than lemons. Or limes. It’s - hard to describe. And worth a trip to the Keys to get, for sure.

Mmmmmmmmmmm. Love me some pie right about now. I like blueberry, strawberry, key lime (if nice and tart), apple (just as Mrs. Elendil’s Heir makes it), cheese (ditto), and pecan (more gooey than nutty for me, please).
