Your favorite song right now...

Today, my “favorite” is Tonight, Tonite, by the Smashing Pumpkins. Tomorrow shall probably be different.

My fave song at the moment is “Deep” by Nine Inch Nails, from the Tomb Raider soundtrack. Mmmmm…NIN.

I have three current favorites, that I listen to over and over again…Desert Rose by Sting, Stripper Song by Wyclef, and Angel of the Morning by Merilee Rush.

Also, Rammstein’s entire new album.

Dale Hawkins: Tornado

I was watching the show Sex and the City a few weeks ago, and I heard them playing a song I later found out was a Ricky Martin song called ‘She Bangs’. The very next day I went to the store and found that cd single, and have been playing that song constantly every since. Whats worse though is that Ive always said I would NEVER listen to Ricky Martin, guess Im eating those words now, heh!

My fave song at the moment is “Rexall” by Dave Navarro. THe video is interesting too.

I also adore “Amazed” by Poe

“Nothing In Common” by the Thompson Twins.

“England 2 Columbia 0” by Kirsty MacColl

“In These Shoes” also by Kirsty MacColl.

Tropical Brainstorm, MacColl’s posthumous release, is my favorite album of the year thus far.

Not sure if this is better-known over here in the UK, but

Heaven Is A Halfpipe by OPM

Have you heard “Russians” from Sting’s first solo album?

I was going to say “Teenage Dirtbag”, a sweet little song by Wheatus. However, after buffalogal’s post, I can’t stop whistling “A Kiss To Build a Dream On” … or for that matter “Buffalo Gals”.

“… and we danced by the light of the moon.”

Two are battling it out for my current favourite.

  1. The hidden track that follows “Crown” from Collective Soul’s album ‘Dosage’ – (starts at time code 6:00 on the last cut of the CD.

  2. “Shellshock” by New Order from the compilation ‘Substance: 1987’ – strangely enough I hated this song when it was current.

Now, what’s a radio?

Seriously? That was one of last summer’s biggest hits on alternative stations in the North East (US) last year. Are they a British band, or something for you to think that? I figured them for west coast types, to be honest.

Over the past weekend it’s been “Hopkins (Witchfinder General)” by Cathedral. That INTRO! First the spoken bit, then the wall of guitars with the badass effects on 'em…and of course the Vincent Price soundclips.

“The year is 1645, one of the bloodiest of a bloody civil war. But now, a new pestilence is visited on the land…”

Hell yeah!

Do you select your friends on the basis of musical taste, Chum, old chum? Besides, I was joking. You wanna know my dirty little secret? I actually own a copy of Pornografitti. I haven’t listened to it in almost seven years, but I do have it, and “More than Words” is the song I bought it for. However, I do stand behind “Your Disease” and especially “The Space Between.” I love the lyrics to that song.

Suprisingly “trendy” for me…

“Beautiful Day” U-2

“Ants Marching” Dave Mathews and Tim Reynolds, acoustic

It’s only just caught on in the last month over here (UK), and it entered our charts at #4 last Sunday.

My favorite song right now is probably “Courage” by Alien Ant Farm or “Handle This” by Sum 41. Also, I love “Made To Heal” by Our Lady Peace but Just A Girl beat me to it.
~Kittie

Right now, Bjork’s version of “Hyperballad” she recorded with the Brodsky Quartet for her Telegram album, which I picked up used over the weekend.

That or “Till My Head Falls Off” by They Might Be Giants.

Dr. J

Well, I don’t know if I’d call it my favorite, but the song I most frequently and enjoyably find stuck in my head lately is “I Feel Free” by Cream.

Darn The Sopranos soundtrack.

‘Short Skirt, Long Jacket’ by Cake. A silly song by a silly group, but I like it, reminds me of my wife somehow.

“I miss you” by Incubus. Currently I am in love with Incubus, their latest album, “Make Yourself” is one of those that I can listen to non-stop over and over again and love every song. They’re coming to town in just 13 days, and I can’t wait.
