This isn’t a particularly dramatic moment, but I’ve always liked a certain exchange between Damar and Weyoun. Weyoun makes a comment about how foolish the Bajorans are for worshiping the Prophets and thinking that an alien race are gods. Damar says to him, “Your people worship the founders as gods”. Weyoun gets insulted and snaps “That’s different!” After Damar smirks and asks “How is that different”, Weyoun gets a smug, self-righeous, condenscending expression on his face, and explains, like a person would to a young child, “Because the founders ARE gods.”
My favorite moments are the funny ones:
DS9 - When they see the old-style Klingons on the “Return to The Trouble With Tribbles” episode. (Already mentioned.)
TOS - The Trouble With Tribbles (I think) - When Kirk is questioning Scotty after a brawl with the Klingons, he finds out that Scotty started it not because the Klingons insulted Kirk, but because they called the Enterprise a garbage scow.
TOS - The Changeling - Kirk tricks the alien/Earth probe into self-destructing. While it’s getting ready to blow, Spock, clearly impressed, says “Your logic was impeccable Captain - we are in grave danger.”
TNG - The episode where Q gets kicked out of the Continuum (?) - At the very beginning of the episode he materializes in mid-air on the bridge, naked, says “Red Alert!” and hits the floor.
TNG - Don’t know what episode - Worf to Keiko: “You are fully dilated - you may now give birth.”
Favorite non-funny scenes: Cisco using baseball to explain how we live to the Bejoran (I know that’s spelled wrong) “gods.” Also, any scene with the Romulan captain in the episode where they destroy the neutral zone outposts.
Lesseeee…
The part in Deja Q when Q talks to Picard about losing his powers.
“The more I learn about what it means to be human, the more I realize I’d never make a good one. I don’t have what it takes.”
The last act of Tapestry when Picard sees his alternate future.
Picard: “That man is bereft of passion and imagination! That is not who I am!”
Q: “Au contrare. That is exactly who you said you wanted to be.”
The pilot episode of DS9 when Sisko is talking to the wormhole dudes, and has to re-live his wife’s death.
In Offspring where Lal picks up Riker and kisses him.
Data: “Commander, what are your intentions toward my daughter?”
Also, the whole end of Offspring when Lal dies.
“His…hands were moving so fast, I couldn’t even see. He woudn’t give up.”
The end of Best of Both Worlds Part I where Riker orders the Enterprise to fire on Locutus.
But my favorite Star Trek moment of all time, was in Birthright Part I when Data has his dreams about Dr. Soongh. I was really pissed off that Part II completely dropped that story-line. They should have made Data’s dreams a single standalone episode. (The one with him having nightmares was cool too.)
“Commander Data, send a message to Admiral Hansen–We have engaged the Borg.”
The scenes I always remember fondly are visual, usually with no lines spoken.
• TNG - When the Birds of Prey uncloak at the end of “The Defector”
• TNG - Riker looking quite distressed that his round kick didn’t have any effect on the Cmdr Quinn in “Conspiracy”
• TNG - The whole 2-part battle scene with the Borg where they get Picard back (can’t remember the episode titles)
• TNG - Picard laughing after getting stabbed through the heart by the Naussican in “Tapestry”
• TOS - When Spock is hanging from the tree, with some strange stoned smile on his face in “This Side of Paradise” (perfect music in that one too)
• TOS - Frank Gorshin hamming it up as he does that weird prance-run through the halls in “Let That Be Your Last Battlefield”
• TOS - when the Talosians project that image of Hell for Capt. Pike in “The Cage”
• TOS - “Space Seed” - pretty much the whole episode, but mostly McGivers looking sexy as hell in those soft-light closeups.
I cried when Lal died.

Marley23, I should kill you where you stand for besmirching the name of Ezri Dax.
And then there’s the time Hoshi got laid…
(just seeing if this gets Tars’ attention. ;))
Kirk: “Gentlemen, your work today has been outstanding. I intend to recommend you all for promotion… in whatever fleet we end up serving.”
Oh yes. is a big Weyoun fan
Best Weyoun scene: the one where he reveals that the Vorta have no sense of aesthetics. “Gods don’t make mistakes – although sometimes I think it would be nice to be able to carry a tune.”
Others…
Garak and Bashir discussing Julius Caesar (a happy Shakespeare-geek moment – “Improbable Cause,” DS9)
Already mentioned, but Picard playing the flute at the end of “The Inner Light” is wonderful.
The Romulan commander to Kirk at the end of “Balance of Terror”: “In another reality, I might have called you friend.”
Another great Shakespeare-geek moment is Data performing Henry V on the holodeck at the beginning of “The Defector.” I mean, he even invokes Kenneth Branagh! Picard quoting the play later on in the same ep is also highly cool: “Now if these men do not die well, it will be a black matter for the King that led them to it…”
Alien: “What is it?”
Scotty: “It’s green.”
I use that one all the time, especially after the 8th Margarita or so. Unfortunately, I don’t have anything resembling a decent Scottish accent, so it doesn’t have the same ring to it. James Doohan rules.
One of my favorite lines (from the Dyson Sphere episode):
“You didn’t tell him how long it would really take?!?”
Yes, William Windom showing he can overact far better than Shatner. (Rember him obsessively twirling the data card in his fingers?)
My favorite line from that show was Kirk to Scott on the ruined ship when they distract the Doomsday Machine. “Great, it’s chasing us. I think it’s great. Scotty, get us out of here!” Also, “Scotty, you earned your pay for the week.” I wish Norman Spinrad had written more episodes.
Sulu to Chekov in Amok Time, after they had changed course about five times.
“What do you think Chekov?”
Chekov: “I think I’m getting space sick.”
And a McCoy moment, in Corbomite Manuever: “If I jump every time an alarm goes off around here I’d be talking to myself.” said in Sick Bay, talking to himself.
The TNG episode “Yesterday’s Enterprise” is one of my favorites for a number of scenes:
The very beginning, right after Enterprise-C slipped through the wormhole and changed history. The bridge goes from well-lit wood-paneled warmth to dark and militaristic in a flash, and you the viewer have no freaking idea what just happened.
When the still-alive-in-the-war-timeline Lt. Yar requests a transfer to Enterprise-C because she finds out that she’s dead in the “normal” timeline.
When Picard confided in Capt. Garrett that “the war is going much worse for the Federation than is generally known” and that the Federation was probably going to lose in 6 months no matter whether her ship stayed or went back through the wormhole.
Sure, the episode was a bit heavy on the cheesy acting, but still one of my favs.
I cried in the theater during Generations when Data found Spot in the wreckage. My wife really enjoyed seeing that. She’ll still occasionally say “Spot!” in a blubbery voice to irritate me.
The end of Amok Time where Spock discovers the captain is alive…the incredible look of joy and delight on his face as he seizes Kirk’s shoulders.
The writers were so smart to ration these moments of emotion, they packed such a wallop.
STIII:TSFS
McCoy is talking with this large eared, strange alien guy, trying to get passage to Genesis planet…
LESAG*: Jennathisz?
Bones: Yes! Genesis! How can be hard of hearing with ears like that?!
LESAG: Jennathisz is planet forbiddon. I GO NOT!
When the alien leaves, StarFleet Security wants to ask Bones some questions and McCoy tries the Vulcan nerve pinch on him. It doesn’t work, and the security guy takes Bones’ hand of his shoulder with a real condensending look.
*Large Eared Strange Alien Guy
Guess which ep?
When the old lady, at the end of Silicon Avatar asks Data to do her dead son’s voice one more time… Data: No, Ma’am. I will not.
Too easy, Clueless One. Your quote was from “The City on the Edge of Forever” and was adressed to Edith Keeler.
Addressed? Adressed? Addresed?
viva will be along at some point, I’m sure. We’ll find out then.
TOS: “He knows, doctor, he knows”
Movies: ST2-- Here it comes, Khan. OR Khan, I’m laughing at the superior intellect.
TNG: Riker: “Fire!”
DS9: In the Pale Moonlight-- Whole episode, especially when Sisko realizes Garak killed everyone
Voy: Equinox pt 1 Doctor:“someone has been using these creatures in experiments” Evil Doctor:“I know, i designed them” then smacking him in the holoemitter.
Ent: Tholians!
