After some thought, decided to make it a one choice poll, and not multiple choice. Your reasons for loving that time period are up to you-you love the nightlife, the dreaming time, or a chance to fish on a nice sunny morning, or just gaze in wonder at all of the colors.
The poll selections should be obvious. Me, I love love love sunset time, a golden orb shimmering on the highway in front of me, the warmth of the light as it hits the trees, the colors of the clouds above.
I became a morning person when I could not find any other time to ride or run. Sunrise and the next hour or so. It’s my time when everyone else sleeps.
When I can go to sleep or wake up whenever I want, my favorite time is around midnight. I usually get bursts of energy really late at night, and the quiet is also a plus. There’s just something about darkness outside and a cozy house that’s nice.
between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. is my absolute favorite time. i have the most energy during these times, and do not have to worry about interacting with people and being bothered by this or that. on the flipside, i despise the evening in particular because everyone is getting off of work and out of school and running amok, disrupting my thought processes and whatever business i happen to be in the middle of during those times. i try to get all my work and general responsibilities taken care of during the morning/afternoon times as most people are at their jobs or school somewhere and i can be left alone more.
I like the sunset, but does sunset really take a full hour? I don’t know, it’s been so long since I’ve actually taken the time to watch one.
Anyway, I chose evening twilight. Preferably with the buzz of cicadas in the background.
Evening for me. I’m home from work, I’m done with dinner, and weather permitting, I’m either taking my doggies for a walk in the park or relaxing in the recliner with something good to read and an adult beverage.
Whomever it was who said this is the time when the world breathes a sigh of relief is SO right.
It’s the entire ambiance of that period of time that I was shooting for. It seemed sufficiently different from how the world typically looks after the sun has set that I bifurcated the choice in question.
I’m a natural born night owl, so I’m at my best between around 8 p.m. and midnight. This is part of why I work second shift. Plus, I like to get up when I’m done sleeping, not when an alarm screams in my ear and rousts me out of bed like a Soviet dissident being dragged into the street in pajamas.
(Severe aversion to all the bullshit and bosses breathing down your neck that goes along with day shift is the other part of why I work second.)
