Natalie Imbruglia performs live on Karaoke for the Deaf.
So, so wrong.
Opera/Cell Phone guy’s saga continues (though the unfortunate music selection and unnecessary stage effects make this a bit cheesier).
As someone who loves “real” opera, so to speak, I can’t take much issue with fachverwirrt’s comments. I was more moved by the underdog-makes-good quality of his story (and his simple humility), especially in a venue that rarely pays attention to this type of performance. My sister was a music major and aspiring opera singer, but she always seemed to take her talent for granted, and it never really got her anywhere. I just like that this is something he loves to do and is able to share this personal (and quite unexpected) side of himself with the world; I know I never saw that kind of passion in my sister, who was technically superior. I suppose I wouldn’t necessarily feel that way if he was difficult to listen to (sometimes it’s not just the thought that counts), but he’s fine for what he is and the larger arc is about inspiration and not aspiration.
Here’s hoping he picks a better piece for the next stage.
I though this performance was more even and consistent, and certainly he is less tense. On the whole I preferred his first performance, owing largely to song choice.
There really are glimmers of something in there. I hope he continues to sing, but I also hope that he understands the expense and work behind building a career.
Still have to stick with this one:
Chris Chelios recalls his youth hockey with coach Jules Winnfield.
That was fucking hilarious, cocksucker! (Especially the ending )
Hey, the whole show was good on its own! (They are making more, aren’t they?)
There’s lots of fun versions of it online. My favourite is the Mega Man version.
Edit: Reminded me of another one I saw a bit back. Live action, with an unfortunate ending.
It’s real! The homepage is http://www.willitblend.com/ and there’s a clip of Meredith Vieira (the Today show host who replaced Katie Couric) trying out one on the Today Show.
I’ve been inspired to go through my bookmarked videos. A cross between Avenue Q and Fiddler on the Roof, by the actual casts. Funnier the more you’ve seen of both.
What the hell is she wearing on her head - a sweater/hat?
Revenant Threshold’s post made me think of one that I love.
I love Ave. Q.
Brendon Small
I love his face. It’s gentle, loving, and humble.
Duplicated someone else’s recommendation dammit.
I think you don’t understand. Now he is famous. Do you think he needs to build a career? I bet he gets a record contract.
This looks really heavily edited to me. The fabric of her clothes doesn’t move naturally. It is a cool effect, though, and I like the music.
I would be surprised if anything more is added beyond an OVA or two.
[hijack] I’m a bit annoyed though, we picked up the first volume the other day and episode 4 was episode 3. Ep 4 is supposed to be ep 7![/hijack]
I’m sure I just confused everyone not familiar with the show.
