Paris from The Skank and the Beast.
I voted Mulan. Who cares if the’s a real princess or not. Although Calla would have gotten my vote if there’s been the option.
And there are a disturbing number of furries in this thread. At least no-one’s rooting for Marian from Robin Hood.
Maid Marian. She’s a fox.
I love Mulan. Belle is a close second.
I am not ashamed to admit that the scene where she kneels before her father and tells him she has brought gifts from the emperor and he embraces her and says, “The greatest gift and honor is having you for a daughter”, makes me cry every time. If only my dad had treated me like that!
sniff
Ditto. These are the characters I related to most. Mulan being awkward and outspoken/opinionated, and Belle for being a bookworm.
Right from the moment when I met her, saw her,
I said she’s gorgeous and I fell.
Here in town there’s only she,
Who’s as beautiful as me.
So I voted for the Disney Princess Belle.
With abject apologies to Mencken and Ashman
Tiana for me. Duh.
Mulan is the best! But I also voted for Belle, Jasmin, and Ariel.
Nice.
Belle. If the SMDB were around in 1600’s France, she would be the one posting the “ask the Princess by marriage” thread.
Mulan and Belle - because I want my daughter to be fierce like them!
I voted Mulan. I might have picked Belle but she strikes me as a snob.
“Little town, full of little people - oh, excuse me while I sit on my ass, feeling superior and reading my book while you peons work.”
Oh, Belle works, she’s probably the reason why she and her father eat regularly. It’s just that when she has free time, she spends it reading, unlike the other girls in town who hang out at the local pub and moon over Gaston.
I voted Sleeping Beauty, because she has the best rack.
Mulan, no question about it. Smart, tough, funny, loyal, and HAWT!
To answer a question asked above: Yes, Li Shang is also my favorite prince. He has an actual personality and motivations of his own, unlike most of them. Also, he has those mad martial arts skillz. Your typical Disney prince relies on 3rd party magic and/or shitass luck to defeat the big bad.
What about other kinds of princesses? I really like Coal Black from Merrie Melodies’ Coal Black and the Sebben Dwarfs.
Oh, wow. Never seen that one. Looked and found the whole thing on youtube - animation wonderful, subject matter disturbing.
How come Kida from Atlantis: The Lost Empire and Eilonwy from The Black Cauldron didn’t make the role call? Unlike some of the others, they indisputably were princesses.
Aww. I really, really like it. I’m not saying that ironically. My family loves it (and we do crack up… "DOES YOU MEAN, THE BUCK, BUCK, BUCKET!?!)
And the music is awesome! “And I get the bluuuuuuessss…in the niiiiight!”
ETA: thanks for linking the youtube. I can’t link youtube from work.
Re-edit: Aww. I see you didn’t link the youtube, after all.
And I’ve learned an important rule: When you look for Disney princesses on Google Images, you really need to turn on SafeSearch.
