Your last meal of 2008

Last of 2008: Velveeta and rot-el dip, chocolate covered peanut butter Ritz cracker thingys and a candy cane.

First of 2009: Hot dog, chips and salsa.

Good times

Last meal in 2008: Veggie pizza, BBQ chicken wings and pizza rolls, washed down with a Witty Chuck, a vodka and raspberry ginger ale, and Korbel champagne.

First meal in 2009: Six (!) White Castle cheeseburgers and a Coke Zero

My main resolution - lose some weight, eat more fruit and veggies, and drink less pop.

Whoops!

I worked all night, so neither my last meal of 2008 or my first meal of 2009 were that special. Dinner on the 31st was half a grilled chicken, cucumber, salsa, garlic sauce and an apple. Breakfast on the 1st was low-fat, unsugared yoghurt, low-fat cottage cheese, blueberries and an apple.

Hope so…I first lit up at mid-afternoon and was grazing till midnight. The damage was apparently rather random and included an apple, a pear, an orange, some cashews and pistachios, six toasted ravioli with marinara sauce, a couple chicken burritos, a glass of merlot, a bottle of beer, pickled herring, and some navy bean soup with ham.

A burger, fries and a beer at the local bowling alley. Oh, and a root beer, too - Gotta go out in style!

With Cabernet Sauvignon:

Mushroom Antipasto with goats cheese. (The sauce was To Die for)

Veal Scallopini - (so good that the left overs were for dinner tonight)

With Cappuccino:

A Chocolate ‘Dome’…

I’m under a lot of stress. When that happens, I not only lose my appetite but I physically find it near impossible to eat anything. Last meal of 2008: a bowl of soup with crackers. First meal of 2009: a granola bar. Both went down like shards of glass. (I did, however, lose 14 lbs. since Thanksgiving.)

A burrito wrapped in plastic, a small salad with brown lettuce, a “fun-size” package of M&Ms and a small cup of Sprite. I don’t recommend flying on New Year’s Eve.

Good hijack! Mine was scrambled eggs, pulla, pink grapefruit, and coffee.

My last meal of 2008 was at my friend’s beach house party. I had a pork chop, sausage and rissole with some pumpkin and zucchini salad. My husband and I brought along some Christmas Ale from the local microbrewery, a friend bought some wine from his parents’ vineyard and we had Frangelico chocolate pudding and cherries for dessert.

My first meal of 2009 was orange juice and toast with honey and peanut butter. I think I also had 2 slices of watermelon.

Last of 2008–roast leg of lamb, crashed hot potatoes with asiago and cheezy bread. Also sundry snackies, chips, chex mix, etc.

First of 2009–chicken fried steak with gravy, hash browns and fried eggs with wheat toast. Then I came home and made cashew butter chocolate chip cookies with the grandkid.

Last meal, 08: TJ’s sourdough chicken/provolone/pesto panini and wedge-cut fries washed down with Beringer Sparkling White Zin.

First food of '09: a couple of JD sausage biscuits and a couple cups of espresso.

I don’t think I have eaten a real meal since Christmas Day. I have had a run of ulcers on my tongue (haven’t had a mouth ulcer for about 10? years) and a bit of a throat/chest infection. I have only been mildly unwell and out and about doing things but just have no enthusiasm for eating. So I have been existing on mostly protein shakes made with ice cold milk, fruit pieces from the fridge and ice-blocks (either fruit or ice-tea). All very soothing for the mouth and throat.

About once a day I eat something. Yesterday I went to a BBQ and had 2 sausages. One day I had a hamburger (it was a Christmas present made by the guy across the road while I was chatting to him in his shop). A few days I have had a tub of yogurt. One day I had some frozen bubble 'n squeak.

Looking at my dried washing up that would seem to be it. Strangely enough I am sure if I tried to eat like this for dietary reasons I would find it difficult but in reality it is no difficulty at all - I am not hungry or craving anything.

Last meal of 2008:
Wendy’s Baconator
Fries
Coke
2 Carolina Pale Ales

First of 2009:
1 Carolina Pale Ale

Last things I ate in two thousand eight (hey, that rhymes!!):
(1) About 5 or 6 slices of summer sausage that I dipped in french onion dip

(2) Sparkling apple juice

(3) Pumpernickle bread slices with spread cheese and topped with Miracle Whip

(4) About 5 or 6 Totino’s Pizza Rolls that I dipped in honey barbeque sauce

(5) 2 glasses of chocolate milk
And that was about it! It was actually all pretty good!!!

At home: Chicken soup, water, tangerines.

We were all set to do some steaks or something a little nicer for our last meal of the year, but were too tired to go our, or to fix it. We had frozen pizza for supper.

My first meal of 2008 was toast with cheddar cheese, and milk.

Last meal of 2008:

Tamales
Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas
Queso and chips
Sopapilla cheesecake
Dr Pepper

I was at work and we ordered out for Chinese. I got the Chicken in Garlic Sauce combo that came with an eggroll.

A Caesar salad and Strawberry Salad
Goat Cheese and Garlic Toast
Swordfish
2 Glasses of red wine

I love playing new years gigs! The food was free!
