I would just like to point out that that’s the first time in many years I’ve been able to fit on a photo taken long-way-up instead of long-way-along.
Voices off: You mean, in portrait rather than landscape orientation?
Yeah, summat posh like that.

You are doing bloody well Stevie boy!
I noticed just how well you have done cos I moved the first Londope site too and had a look at all the piccies while I was doing it.
Yay!
My, my, Tir, what lovely… teeth… you have…
Nice pics! I like the one of Tansu with the penguin on her head. Thanks Steve and Kat
mercifully few of me - wahey!
Holy Farquon, Steve – where’s the rest of you? Are you subsisting on rainwater and dust bunnies, or what?
And, although it’s hard to tell from the Brumdope pics, there appears to be somewhat less of Tansu as well, yes?
It’s alright jr8, I took on the extra they shed
Boo! see now I wont be able to scare people when I meet them for the first time, like I did Garius…
This is why I hide from photo’s! heh!
Oh, and Garius there are more photos to come, but those ones there give me plenty to work on… couple of your expressions…
Bwhahahahaahaa!
Tansu is very svelte and streamlined these days. Not that she was so bad when she was curvy and voluptuous. Me, I’ve just gone from fat to slightly less fat.
(Might, technically - just technically - have broken my diet over the weekend, though. Oh, well, everybody knows calories from DopeFests don’t count.)
Oi! Behave. Don’t make me come over there… :dubious:
And do what? eh?
garius, even I can spot the potential for mischief with those photos
my great, great, great grandfathers name was “Van Helsing”
Yeah, I think I’ve got some of it too. I’m sure there’s a physics paper in there somewhere on the theory of “conservation of excess weight”…
Really?
I think mine was Richmond or something… I forget.
How terribly droll…
Hmmm… theory: “Excess mass cannot be created or destroyed. Merely moved between distinct members of the SDMB”
Discuss.
(Sorry for the slight nitpick between mass and weight though - weight is strictly a measure of the gravitational attraction beween two bodies - in this case the Earth and your body, whereas mass is a measure of how much there is of you.)
Sorry again. Angua goes and hides somewhere for that sentence
That would be me. Attendee input is requested in the linked thread.
Hi guys, finally catching up.
It was great to meet everyone.
My hearing has recovered, Angua. And I owe you some dosh - email me and let me know how much.
Done. Hmmm… maybe you need ear protectors for next time
Hmmm, first i’ve seen of this thread and it’s grown like a growy thing in a bucket of heapgrow plus.
I always wondered why you don’t see all that many Brummies around, like you do with scousers, bloody londoners mate, and geordies who seem to crop up all over the place, in Majorca, in jail, in tv progs etc.
Turns out the answer is because of the awful none way system Brum is a very hard place to leave, sort of like an urban black hole.
They took out a whole chunk of the motorway system including parts of the M38, M6, M5 and sundry other bits around the town centre. There didn’t seem to be any obvious reason apart from amusement of the locals.
Result was I got stuck in a 39 mile jam(it said so on the flipping sign) and instead of arriving with lots of time to explore, made it with less than half an hour before the proposed meeting time, which turned out to be somewhat elastic anyway.
The cathedral turned out to be impressive in the same way that the English tennis squad is not, you kind of expect something better but inevitably feel a bit let down.
Shouldn’t really criticise Brum on its achitectural gifts being that Leeds is such a shit hole and tourist routes include visits to local industrial warehouses and there is a famous postcard showing a derelict site entitled ‘Southern end of Water Lane formerly site of the public conveniences’
Or the postcard of Castleford showing the chemical works of Hickson and Welsh just across the polluted stream from the rugby ground(at least they send me a calender every year which besides informing me of the dates also helpfully gives out emergency instructions in case of ‘an incident’ in the works)
