Favorite nonfiction book?
Hm, nonfiction books are kind of unnecessary nowadays with Google, but I’ll go with the World Atlas. National borders, geography, climate readings, all provide a core basis for the way people think and act.
Favorite “Hey, it’s that guy” actor
William Fichtner-ever since I first saw him in “As The World Turns”
Favorite birthday gift
Apart from hookers and blow, I gotta go with a good book.
Favorite episode of Beverly Hillbillies
The one where they teach the city slickers a lesson with their guileless, homespun wisdom
Favorite Star Trek original series episode?
I Mudd. Yes, silly as all hell, but most of the gags still can bring a smile to my face. “Harcourt Fenton Mudd…” “Number…five…hundred…!”
Fave DS9 ep?
What’s a D59 ep?
Deep Space 9…a star trek. To move the game along, I’ll answer “any episode with 7 of 9”
Favorite Star War
“Episode IV: A New Hope.” The first is still the best, IMHO.
Favorite character on “Gilligan’s Island”?
She was on Voyager, not DS9.
Favorite character on “Gilligan’s Island”?
I didn’t care for the show, really, but I guess I’ll say Ginger, because she was cute.
Favorite episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation?
I guess that shows how much I watched either.
you just described all of them
The return of Scotty, for his advice to Geordi - Ya nevah tell them it takes ya 60 minutes ta do the diagnostics - ya tell them 90 minutes, so when ya do it in 60, they think you’re a bloody miracle worker!
favorite episode of Big Bang Theory
'Zactly.
Favorite BBT? The one where Sheldon faints after Stephen Hawking points out his math boo-boo.
Trying again… favorite episode of DS9?
The one where the Captain pulls some underhanded tricks to achieve a goal, and almost(but not quite) convinces himself that the ends justified the means.
Favorite ending to a tv series
Newhart, where he wakes up married to the wife from his previous show, Suzanne Pleshette (and yes I envy him)…
Fave pilot ep. of a tv series (broadcast or not)…
ST:TOS The Cage, which was later recycled into the 2-episode The Menagerie - Roddenberry mainly did it to reduce production time between episodes, but it turned out to be an intriguing look into the Enterprise’s past.
Favorite use of a real-life person in an otherwise fictional TV series
Robin Williams in an episode of “Mork And Mindy” where they went to see Robin Williams at a comedy store. He used the character of Mork to analyze why he felt the need to be “on” all the time. It was actually more introspective than any of the interviews he had given up to that time.
Favorite tv cross-over
Alex Trebek as himself, and actually a Man in Black, in that X-Files episode.
Favorite ST:VGR episode?
That one where Wesley Crusher figures out how to save the Enterprise despite the fact the entire ship was full of highly qualified and trained people and he was just a kid. Man, that kid was smart!
