“True friends stab you in the front.”
Favorite movie villain quote
Aaaahhh my pretty
Favorite disease
The common cold. Yes, it is uncomfortable, but you’ll get through it, and it leaves no lasting effects.
Most favorite hotel you’ve ever stayed in?
The Academic hotel in Moscow. Lived there in two rooms with my family of four for almost a year. Had a love-hate relationship with it. Have nostalgic, fond memories of it now.
Favorite gift you ever received for whatever winter holiday you celebrate (or if you don’t celebrate one, then favorite gift in general).
A Flexible Flyer sled when I was 8
Favorite guilty pleasure
Rereading all my favorite children’s books.
Favorite cheesy TV show.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow - it’s so charmingly bad. The stories are stupid, but the actors have too much fun
Favorite cult movie
Freaks
Favorite Razzie Award-winning movie.
Hudson Hawk - I actually thought that movie was hilarious. Darwin Mayflower was practically a clone of my aspiring politician friend Brett.
Favorite animal movie role
The dog in “Palookaville” is the first that comes to mind.
MF letter to write in a crossword puzzle box.
Q. In most cases, it will always be followed by a U both across and down, which often helps.
Your favorite kind of pencil puzzle?
Crossword. Really. In Basic Training, we could have a Sunday newspaper (no other day), and I’d keep a pencil and the crossword puzzle under my pillow, and work on it all week, with no reference books or anything. Then in AIT, when I could have a paper every day, I started working on the puzzle everyday, and bought a crossword puzzle dictionary at the PX. I was hooked.
Favorite ABBA song.
Fernando
Favorite Genesis song
There are many favorites, but if I had to pick one, it would have to be “Supper’s Ready.” With its various movements and underlying themes, it might as well be a symphony.
Your favorite Moody Blues song?
“Twilight Time”
Favorite time you ever got to miss school as a kid.
In those days, the World Series was played in the daytime, and for a crucial game, us boys would take the afternoon off to listen to the game on the radio. Then, the principal would put the broadcast on the school PA system.
MF time, as a small child, you got mail.
I have a whole life policy my parents bought for me when I was born, and it paid dividends, so every year when I was growing up, I got a check for about $10, which my parents let me keep.
MF yearly special, or movie broadcast, you looked forward to as a child.
The Wizard of Oz. 'Cause I was a kid before the whole Rankin-Bass, &c., group came in with holiday specials.
Most Favorite Christmas carol?
Fantasy on a Bell Carol - I always liked the other-worldly feel to it
Favorite Xmas gift you gave to somebody else
