Those Best Of… albums. Even if you don’t end up buying them thanks to already owning all the records, you can’t help noticing that there are always some of your particular favorites the band’s left off and some, well, still-great-but-not-THAT-great-compared-to-rest-of-band’s-production songs that they’ve chosen to include. So, if you got to make your own Best Of… album(s) for your favorite band(s), what would it include? I’m limiting my Best Of… albums to twelve tracks to ensure that they really are the Best Of.
I don’t listen to “bands”, per se, but I am trying to think of some favorite tracks from my favorite film composer, Jerry Goldsmith…
Hmmmm…thinking…
OK:
“Carnival Happening” from Justine
“Bajo Fuego” from Under Fire
“You’re Renewed” from Logan’s Run
“End Titles” from Russia House
“The Trees” from Medicine Man
“The Hotel” from The Shadow
“Frontal Lobotomy” from The Shadow
“Wild Rovers” from Wild Rovers
“Winter March” from Patton
“Rafael” froom Under Fire
“Noah Cross” from Chinatown
“Short Hair” from Mulan
“Caravan” from The Mummy
“Spock Walk” from Star Trek: TMP
There are many more, from films like “Planet of the Apes” and “L.A. Confidential”, “Star Trek: First Contact” and many more, but I can’t think of the track names.
Wollt ihr Das Bett in Flammen Sehen (one of the best songs ever)
Der Meister
Weisses Fleisch
Asche zu Asche
Seeman (slow, but another great song)
Du Riechst so Gut
Das Alte Leid
Heirate Mich
Herzeleid (best song of the album)
Laichzeit
Rammstein
Though I said 1, 5, & 9 were great, I just meant they were the best of the album. Every song on here is great, 'cept laichzeit. If you know what the lyrics mean, you can get a little disgusted.
No kidding. Here’s my Best of R.E.M. (painstakingly pared down to fit on one standard length CD.)
Note: my list includes at least one song from each major studio album, and is arranged for playability. Try it, you’ll like it :D.

Little America.
At least I’ll have about 10 years to shave that down to 6 before the 6@6 gets up to it (should it ever come back - shame, I miss those threads).

1) Too Much Time on My Hands
2) Renegade
3) Crystal Ball
4) Miss America

Well since there was only one real album ever released by him, they are all greatest hits, and is my favourite ALBUM (all songs) of all time. I am of course talking about:
Top 5, All-time Pink Floyd songs: (goal here is to maximize the breadth of exposure across the 4 eras, and leave out “goodness” due to cross-track compatibility, such as DSOTM or the first 3 tracks of MLOR)
1 Hey You
2 ABITW, Part II
3 Comfortably Numb
4 Welcome to the Machine
5 Dogs
6 The Nile Song
7 Apples and Oranges
8 See Emily Play
9 Bike
10 Learning to Fly
11 Childhood’s End
12 Time
How anyone can include a Metallica GH w/o Fade to Black is beyond me.
That goes for not including Wich You Were Here for Pink Floyd too! Blastphamy!! Why are there 12 on a Top 5? Did I miss something? [Lord Helmet voice] What are you thinking man?[Lord Helmet voice]
I don’t have a GH list but I felt the need to add my 2 cents anyway.
