Your Swiss Army Knife (a poll)

I can’t find which model mine is anywhere! It’s sort of like a Rambler or Manager II, but it has more stuff. It has:
1 small blade
1 large blade
scissors
phillips head screwdriver

  • bottle opener
  • wire stripper
weird tool I think is for fish gutting or something gross like that
    nail file with flathead screwdriver
    tweezers
    toothpick

Does anyone know which one this is? It’s in the 2-1/4 inch category. It’s great, even though I’ve never used the fish gutting tool.

I’m not sure which model mine is…it’s over ten years old, but I still use it daily. Folks at work call me “Macguyver” because of it…

The tools it has are as follows:

Long Blade
Short Blade
File
Saw
Fish scaler w/ruler
Scissors
Phillips Screwdriver
Magnifying Glass
Bottle opener w/large flathead driver, and wire stripper
Can opener with small flathead driver
Corkscrew
Reamer (no sewing eye, though)
Wood chisel
Toothpick
Tweezers
Keyring

Anyone know what model this is?

Midnight Manager
translucent red

bought it in Switzerland as my one souvenier.

No Swiss Army Knife for me. But I have the cutest little Leatherman. It goes everywhere with me. We’re best friends.

Its name is Pats Pend. I know, because “Pats Pend” is engraved right on it.

I have a Spartan Swiss Army Knife in my pocket (but yes, I am glad to see you) and a Schmidt-Rubin Swiss Army Rifle in my gun cabinet…

Well, if nothing else, a Wenger has the cachet of rarity. EVERYBODY has a Victorinox these days…

And not only do the can openers on Wenger knives work better, there are no springs to break on the scissors, either.

So there!

I have a tinker. The others seem to just have features that I wouldn’t ever use.

For camping and hunting and such I have a standarn leatherman that is in a case on my possible’s pack belt.

Possible’s pack = large fanny pack with misc camping and hunting gear. The name comes from someone saying “You have such and such on you?” Answer: “It’s possible.” It’s a boy scout thing.

For hunting I just got for xmas a 100th anniversary Buck knife.

Uh…
Well, I’ve got a Victorinox Officer Suisse, whatever the hell that is.

BUT I also found a Wenger. 'Bout an in and a quarter thick, too big to carry around. BTW the logo on the handle is: Saudi Arabia with a tree in the middle and two crossed swords underneath.

Am I in big trouble?

I have quite a few, both Wengers & Victorinox. Right now- a “mini-champ” resides on my key ring.

I’m a Leatherman girl, meself. I have the Wave, though it’s not the most delicate of things, so I usually just have it with me when I’m in the great outdoors.

I think I’ll pick up the mini version to carry in my purse.

Victorinox with
Large blade
Small blade
Philips screwdriver
Magnifying glass
Scissors
Can opener with small screwdriver
Bottle opener with large screwdriver & wire stripper
Reamer with sewing eye
Corkscrew
Toothpick
Tweezers
Key ring

I have it on a lanyard to my belt because I don’t want it to end up in Davy Jones’ Locker

Look on the base of the large blade. Yours sounds like mine, which is an Officier Suisse. I’ve had it for 10 years or so, and its not on their web page.

I’ve had Swiss Army knives for 30 years. I used one to break into my apartment when my key broke off in the lock one day when I was in grad school. When I go on a trip with only carry-on luggage and have to leave it home, I feel naked. It goes in checked luggage most trips.

Question: which tool do you use most on yours? I probably use my Philips head screwdriver - great when I don’t want to go to my workbench, or I’m not near it.

I have a red Victorinox Officier Suisse, except I seem to have lost the tweezers. I use the screwdriver for the screws on my computer, and one or the other knive to open boxes.

My husband had the SwissChamp, but it disappeared. :frowning:

My is the kind that has a pen, also an empty space where the tweezers (or was it toothpick) used to be. Got a few others around the house, but that’s the one that I carry on my key ring and have with me all the time. I love the scissors.

SAKs are cute but they don’t even come close to a Leatherman Pulse. And those huge fancy SAKs, the ones that are a few inches thick, I have all that right in my leatherman, and the thing hooks to my belt unlike the huge SAKs which are larger than the pocket friendly SAKs (the little ones). And for the REALLY thick SAKs, I’ll sometimes have the Leatherman Crunch on my belt as well as the Leatherman Pulse. No huge bulges in my pocket (well not from a knife anyway  )

good evening friends,

i have a black swiss champ on my desk, and a black classic in my pocket at all times.

i don’t fly often, and haven’t since the confiscation began. my last plane trip, i put the classic on the tray with my keys and change, and got it all back after proving via metal detector that i had left my s&w model 19 at home.

      • Mine isn’t up there: it’s a few years old (10? maybe?) like the Tinker, except it’s got the scissors on the front side. And my awl has a hole in it. The base of the large blade is marked “Officier Suisse” on one side and “Victorinox Switzerland Stainless Rostrel” on the other. I bought it in the US at a climbing shop that carried lots of Euro gear though.

I have about 12 Swiss Army knives ( I collect pocket knives of several kinds)…but my favorite one is a blue Tinker with an Apple Computer on it that I picked up at an internet conference hosted by Apple in Cupertino.

I have three Spartans, two black and one red (I think that’s what they are – they seem to match that model on the website). They were all gifts, and I’ve had a couple of them so long I can’t remember who gave them to me. But I do know that I got the red one when I turned 12, so I’ve had that one for 23+ years. I still use it all the time, too.

Actually, now that I look again one of them may be a Tinker (it has the Phillips head screwdriver). That’s the one toll I use the most on the knife.
