Your Top 10 TV Shows for 2012

We have a movie thread so I thought I would start a TV one.

This just for stuff that aired during the year, not all time. Here is mine. The order is a little in flux on any given day plus I could add a bunch of also rans at the end that are just as good as some of these but the limit is 10.

The Walking Dead.
Call The Midwife.
Once Upon A Time.
Grey’s Anatomy (I know, but it’s the last of its kind, shuddup.)
American Horror Story Asylum (a just-barely.)
Downton Abbey.
Mad Men.
Hot In Cleveland and Happily Divorced, mostly just so the house isn’t so quiet.

That leaves two, but I can’t think of anything ‘new’ except The Weather Channel and the enforced viewing of The Kartrashians when I visit an elderly relative.

Game of Thrones
Justified
Walking Dead
American Horror Story
Doctor Who
Archer
Grimm
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Louie
Alphas

Oh, yeah: Dallas, even if it was a reboot.

I watched half of an episode of Criminal Minds, because a high-school friend was in it, but other than that I think the only thing I’ve watched this year was the Brit version of Top Gear

  1. New Girl
  2. Parenthood
  3. Mad Men
  4. Justified
  5. Game of Thrones
  6. Happy Endings
  7. Parks and Recreation
  8. Boardwalk Empire
  9. Community
  10. The Hour

People still watch television?

  1. Big Time Rush (streaming on Amazon.com)
  2. Clips of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on YouTube.

I need to just cancel my cable.

I did catch an episode of Modern Family a week or two ago because I was setting up the Flicker for 1D on the Barbara Walters special and laughed quite a few times. BAseball theme - “Are you going to choke up?” (Implying: “on the bat?”) “Probably during the National Anthem.”

My heart goes out to anyone who watches Dr. Who because apparently this season some real shit went down that made them all collectively scream “NOOOOOOOOOOOO!”

Also watching reruns of ST: TNG, and lots of old movies, mostly from the '30s-'40s.

I would love to watch both Boardwalk Empire and Mad Men, but haven’t had the chance to do so regularly.

Lots of reruns I might have put on my list, but I kept it to shows currently on the major networks’ schedules.

Old movies are always better than most TV shows, but you really can watch them just about any time now.

Also in years past, I would have had no hesitation including The Simpsons and Family Guy on my list, but not anymore.
