I only have two “must watch” shows, in the sense that if I miss an episode I’ll put a huge amount of time and effort into tracking them down, and doing so will be a far higher priority in my live than televised entertainment probably deserves… and they are:
(1) Breaking Bad
and
(2) Game of Thrones
Psych
Burn Notice
Mad Men (when it’s on)
Hawaii 5-O
Dennis Miller’s weekly spot on The O’Reilly Factor
I *wanted *to love Chicago Fire, since they frequently film on my block, and I needed to fill the void in my heart left by The Chicago Code, but somehow it left me kind of underwhelmed. chargerrich, if you can tell me how it earned a spot in your top five, maybe I can learn to love it, too!
I just recently discovered the clever, subversive, and absolutely hilarious Don’t Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23. It was created by American Dad writer Nanatchka Khan. It stars as Breaking Bad’s Krysten Ritter as a lovable drug dealing, whoring, con artist. James Van Der Beek plays a narcissistic version of himself who spends most of his time trying to cash in on his former Dawson’s Creek fame. It’s rather different than most TV shows, and I quite enjoy it.
Well let me first admit that Chicago Fire just kind of caught me off guard.
I did not expect to like a fire themed ER but I watched it and really liked it. I like the main character played by Jesse Spencer who was pretty good in House and the whole show seems to a little edge to it, probably from the Law and Order roots.
Based on this thread, there are a couple of shows I am definitely going to check out. Namely Elementary, Justified, Face Off, Warehouse 13 and Suburgatory.
Thanks for all the feedback and feel free to add more!
