I probably wouldn’t own any of the above, except maybe the retriever and probably not even that one as they tend to be pricey. If I actually got a dog it would probably be some variety of lab mix ( for the temperament ) from the pound. Those are just some breeds I find interesting for one reason or another.

Poodle
Schnauzer
Australian Shepherd
German Shepherd
The “Pit bull” types

I used to be the sort of person that didn’t think much of pit bulls. After I learned more about them, I have developed a soft spot for all the abused and mistreated pit bull type dogs out there. So many of them are good dogs who end up being victimized by human cruelty or ignorance.

SQUEE!

Yorkshire Terrier (short haired, hat optional)
Maltese (short haired)
Chihuahua (long haired) - I think if I were a dog, this would be me. They’re always cold and shivering!
Irish Setter
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

fun thread! I like seeing everyone’s choices

Golden Retriever
Australian Shepherd
Labrador Retriever
Great Pyrenees
Shih Tzu

Two favourites:

Border Collie
Golden Retriever

Then any medium sized dogs; not too keen on the small ones (well, I love them all, but you asked me to rank them.)

Mutts (all mine are mutts, and realistically I’m much more likely to get mixes in the future than anything else. These are the best dogs I’ve ever owned.
Great Dane
Border Collie
Long haired Dachshund
