I had food poisoning not too long ago and went with the BRAT foods - except I did it wrong, apparently, because I thought the T was for Tea.
so I had bananas, rice, applesauce and tea.
then cream of wheat, no butter but brown sugar.

Hah - I made the same mistake (tea vs toast) when I had a nasty bout of double-you-over-with-cramps food poisoning. When I finally got medical attention after a week, the doc set me straight, as the caffeine in tea can act as a bowel stimulant - which I most assuredly did not need.
I don’t know that anything I ate made any difference one way or another. Even trying to live on clear liquids for 24 hours did nothing except make the output turn odd colors (I ate a lot of cherry jello).
One thing to consider, especially if it’s bowel instead of stomach, is add fiber as soon as you can tolerate it. Fibercon etc might be a good thing, as it can help solidify things. I wound up having to use it once the antibiotics kicked in: the pathogen having been eliminated, my gut apparently decided it was done for the summer.
