You're gonna eat THAT?!

Does nayone else like peanut butter on their hotdogs? t has to be the sweet processed kind as well; organic ‘nuts-only’ PB does not work.

Can I have it, then? I like double-salted licorice. It’s hard to find here, though; you have to find a Dutch store, which seem to be outnumbered around here by German delis, Italian pizzerias, Vietnamese noodle places, and for that matter Tibetan restaurants. Maybe I’m just looking in the wrong part of the city.

Apples with mustard. Preferably extra tart very crunchy Red Delicious, cored and sliced but never peeled. Any kind of mustard, drizzled over or in a pool for dipping.

If you want to get fancy, apples with mustard and thin slices of sharp cheddar.

JRB

A rare steak is not the same thing as raw hamburger. This is not a matter of taste; this is a matter of making yourself sick with raw food that is contaminated with fecal bacteria. The disease this causes is Hemorraghic Colitis (also known as Hamburger Disease). It does not sound pleasant.

I thought of another odd food I like - french fries and chocolate ice cream. They taste very good together - sort of like a chocolate cream puff.

When I was in college a friend and I used to occasionally raid the seminary kitchen and eat cold leftover meatloaf with chocolate pudding.

If I recall correctly, commercially ground burger is filthy with fecal bacteria and other nasties.
Home-ground raw burger from good steaks, on the other hand… mmm…

ETA: How’d I miss featherlou’s post?

Ooooooo, yeah, McDonald’s fries dipped in chocolate shake! Yumm-O! The salty…the sweet…mmmmmmmmm!

I like raisin toast with a nice slice of sharp cheddar cheese…and sometimes will top it off with a slice of ham and some brown mustard.

Good thing I’m single.

I prefer my fries dipped into a strawberry shake.

Put a spoonful of butter on the place, douse it with honey (instead of syrup) and mix it all up. Scoop it with a (home made) biscuit and its delicious; that may be the only good thing I ever learned from my father.

Thats where I most often do this!

No! Mustard, especially Dijon/Russian/hot mustard, is de rigeur for most sliced meat sandwiches, but Newfie steak MUST be eaten with MAYO!

On other fronts, peanut butter is good with honey, really tart marmalade, molasses, hamburgers, hot dogs, pancakes (with or without added syrup) and in a combination with Swiss cheese, lettuce, mayonnaise, and jam/marmalade. Cedar cheese with mustard or chutney also makes a good sandwich. Leftover turkey/chicken/pork/beef cut up and stir fried with dates, cashews, coconut, cinnamon, ground cloves and (cooked) rice is really good. Cream of chicken soup heated up straight from the can and spooned over buttered toast is ambrosia.

Great hangover food.
Bacon, crunchy peanut butter and deluxe American cheese on toasted rye bread. This is great because I cover all of my fat, salt and protein needs in one sitting. Sometimes to be healthy I’ll throw on some lettuce.

ROTFLMAO

When I was 8 [back in 1969] my father took me to lunch at the Pen and Pencil in Manhattan, and I spotted the steak tartare, and ordered it. The waiter just about went insane trying to convince me that i NEEDED it made into a patty and grilled… up until I started chowing down on it. I grew up eating the stuff and was amazed to find it away from home.

It was so funny watching him … he was so convinced that raw meat would gross me out

Dude, I am dying laughing over here. Must… breathe…

Anyway, some stuff I eat that grosses out my wife:
eggs with Tabasco sauce
menudo
pesto
Hawaiian pizza
the tentacle portion of calamari (mostly because I like to make like I have tentacles coming out of my mouth; she’s OK with the less identifiable portions of the squid)

stuff she eats that grosses me out:
very runny eggs
grilled cheese with ketchup
Spaghetti-Os straight out of the can
broccoli with mayo
all that yeast paste stuff (Marmite/Vegemite/fermented devil sphincter)

We’re both partial to Lister’s “triple fried egg butty with chili sauce and chutney”.

I give you Corruption - a mixture of salted mixed nuts and wine gums. The ultimate snack food.

Peanut butter and bacon sandwiches or toast are yummy, too!
