You're Jesse Garon Presley, and you survive birth. What do you do with your life?

So lots of people know that Elvis had an identical twin brother who was stillborn. In this hypothetical, both Jesse and Elvis survive birth, and you sort of Quantum Leap over into young Jesse at some point in early childhood (late enough so you’re not trapped in an infant’s body). Let’s say you are forced to make this leap immediately after dying in your current life as a sort of time-travel reincarnation. You just get to take your mind with you.

You’ll grow to look and sound exactly (or near enough) like the Elvis we know. You’ll have the same upbringing and influences musical and otherwise. You’re still you in your head, but you also get any any natural talents a Presley boy was born with. (So if you can’t play a chord in your current body, you’d be able to learn to as Jesse). Do you decide to also go into music? Do you ignore the celebrity connection that inspired this hypothetical and simply enjoy living out a second life in a healthy white male body in the mid 19th century United States? Do you dye your hair black, or distinguish yourself as the brownish/blond one? Could the Elvis phenomenon have even been a twin act? Or could you carve out your own niche in music?

Yes, you can use the knowledge from your current life to your advantage in your next one.

Well, then, I’d rip off every Beatles’ song, and other great song from the future, I could remember. I’d be like Elvis but with song-writing talent too.

Mid 20th century, not 19th.

D’oh. Thanks.

So you’re asking what I would do if I had a brother connected to every level of the music industry, and I had knowledge of the next 50 years worth of music?

Yeah, pretty much what Bup said. I’d be bigger than the Beatles and Jesus combined.
