"You're published, Speaker!"

No, not just in Teemings. I am published in a province wide publication for a poem I wrote in grade nine!

Every year there’s a book published called “The Golden Taffy” that is a collection of the best entries of writing from students across Saskatchewan. My teacher asked if she could submit some poems I’d asked her to read, and I said sure, and I’d forgotten about it until my English teacher (a different one) handed it to me and congratulated me.

I’m proud.

'gratz, Speaker. Good for you. Don’t suppose you’d care to honour us by posting a copy of the poem (or a link, if the book has an online version)?

Congratulations, Speaker!

Many congratulations, Speaker!

And if there is a link to your stuff, I’m sure many here would love to see it.

Speaker - I think that’s just wonderful! I’d like to see it too - is there a link?

I finally got around to uploading it to my Geocities. But I made a change or two to make it a tad better. And if you’re looking for a deep meaning, it’s not. It’s literally talking about walking on clouds.

Well, that link didn’t work. Try going here and click on ‘cloudride.doc’.

I read the title of this thread as, “You’re punished, Speaker”.

Congratulations. I am off to read the poem itself.

Congratulations, Speaker! What a poem!

Speaker, sleep well tonight with the knowledge that you make me feel inferior and inadequate and make me want to kill myself because my fragile ego has been bested by a person who lives in one of them there “province” places!

(takes a breath, coughs and then starts again)

But that was a pretty darned-diggity-doogle neaty-poo poem. Congratulations!
