Why is it I only want hummus in the summer? And of course, hummus requires fresh baked pita bread (the stuff in the store is too thick and doughy), which means I have to have a 450 degree oven going for at least an hour to bake it.
Oh well, I will suffer gladly today.
Hummus seems more of a winter time snack to me. It’s kind of thick and heavy. I usually like lighter foods for the summers. Oh well. It’s always yummy.
I like it with fresh pita and fresh veggies from the garden.
Hummus is good with the new flavored Triscuits. The cracked black pepper variety are especially tasty.
Rosemary/olive oil Triscuits and hummus. Or better, peanut butter mmmmmm
I like the garlic Triscuits with garlic hummus. Some might think it’s too much garlic, but there is no such thing.
The black pepper and the rosemary/olive oil Triscuits are good with any kind of hummus.
Stacey’s pita chips are always available and always tasty with hummus.
You know, I used to think that. Then one night when I was batching it, I fixed Trader Joe’s Basil and Garlic Fettucini with Triple Garlic marinara, with a side of garlic bread.
I think I shocked my e. coli half to death. Needless to say, I paid the price the next few days.
With garlic?
Wuss.
Burned out a blender making hummus Trust me, it needs more oil and less blending.
Sounds like ou need an outdoor stone or adobe oven… actually, a tandoor would be the ideal (If you can afford a commercial one.… if you knew a potter, I’ll bet you could throw, turn, and bake a clay tandoor, yourself for minimal expense.)
