"Zack and Miri" - do they or do they not "Make a Porno" ?

I really enjoyed the movie, it was very funny and touching. There were lots of very nice small touches - Blondie and the Pixies on the soundtrack, a blink and you miss it Scrubs throwback, Jason Mewes’s enormous acting ability. All in all definitely worth the $10.

Then I’m skipping this movie entirely. I loathe Seth Rogan, and without any kind of massive payoff, I will avoid him whenever possible. Too bad, Kevin. This one is going to tank as badly as Jersey Girl did.

Yes, that is why I’m missing it too. Seth doesn’t work for me at all - he just doesn’t make me laugh.

But, but,… Alyssa in CA mentions sleeping with her own character from MR! And both mention the dead swimming pool girl, and and and…

Oh. Nevermind. Must read whole posts. Must read whole posts…

Wait, **Silenus **I am not a Seth fan, see my post above. He was good in this movie and the supporting cast was great. How often have you liked Ben Affleck in non-Kevin Smith movies? He gave Seth some great dialogue to work with.

Please remind me again , why do we hate Tracy Lords?
what did she do?

Well, after going to a lot of trouble to get herself established in the porn industry while secretly underage, there are claims that she informed directly to the FBI on the people who had been making her movies, basically using the scandal as a publicity stunt for herself.

She denies that she was the FBI source, though

This movie had a good number of laughs for me. I wasn’t expecting Oscar-worthy material here – it’s a Kevin Smith flick, man. Lots of fun to be had and plenty of dick and fart jokes to go around.

Uh… I loved Chasing Amy and was on the lower end of “meh” about Mallrats.

And I laughed my butt off through Zack and Miri Make a Porno. It was a great time. I will probably buy it on DVD. And you absoLUTELY have to stay through the credits. It isn’t just something silly, it’s a fairly important plot point.

Driving past a movie theater with it written on the marquee? Seeing an ad on TV? etc, etc, etc?

The three of us who went together where quite literally the only people left in the theater for the post-credit scene. Why the hell are people in such a hurry to get out of the theater?!? Nevermind, I started a thread on that a long time ago. People are weird.

Not to mention I had to get up to chase a parent and her two VERY YOUNG children out of the theater when it became clear they’d wandered in not quite sure what movie they’d gotten to.

Oh, and I laughed my ass off throughout the film despite going in expecting to hate it.
