Terell Owens shoots himself in the foot yet again

I just saw Owens bitching on SportsCenter about how the Eagles didn’t celebrate his 100th catch. “If it was someone else, they’d probably be setting off fireworks.” Give me a break you egomanical shithead prick.

I really wish the media would stop shoving a microphone in his face so he can spout off about whatever selfish bullshit that pops into that inflated head of his. But I guess controversy sells these days.

Wow, I actually agree with T.O. on something. I have to go hide now. The locusts will be here any moment.

The way…oh fuck it. I’m starting my own thread.

He destroyed the Eagles all the way to the Superbowl last year, and I don’t think he’s close to their top problem (McNabb hurt, won’t run the ball) this year. I wish he’d shut up, but he’s helped Philly more than he’s hurt them and they sure wouldn’t be better off without him.

True up until the last part. All things considered, as an Iggles fan I’ll be glad to see him gone.

Favre is finished. The Eagles would be worse off with him.

Well, in the NFC, with about half the Offensive starters injured, Favre is still ranked 7 in QB rating. Would be much higher if there weren’t so many INT’s. Wouldn’t be so many INT’s if he had a full offense. Check out the rankings of yards, TD, completions, etc.

Favre finished? Why are you so bitter and angry? What team are you following that sucks so bad you buy into this idea of Favre being finished?

BTW, Favre is tied with McNabb with 15 TD’s, Palmer is the only one better with 16. Guess they’re just about as finished.

You can be glad if you like. It’s just that you’ll be wrong. An Eagles fan told me before this season that has was really excited about a rumored Owens-for-Jerry Porter trade - and he said it while complaining about Todd Pinkston, who is basically the same person as Jerry Porter. If it had been in person instead of online, I’d have laughed in his face. Owens is, at worst, probably the second best receiver in the NFL, and the Eagles are throwing the ball about 75% of the time this year. They cannot possibly be better off without him on the field.

Is there anyone at all who is suprised by this? Owens is undeniably talented, but his ego far outweighs his skill. He has been a cancer in every team that hired him. No way he would be on my team, sure he’ll win some games for you, but the damage he does to the team is not worth it in the long run.

There is basically one reason why T.O hates McNabb. McNabb gets the better endorsments than T.O. T.O has a basketball mentality, being good, plus being exhuberant should get you the sponser money. But it’s just never worked that way in football. Football money goes to the established humble seeming players. Marino still probably gets more appearance money then all but three or four players playing today. McNabb, Jerry Rice, and Terrell Davis are few of the black players to break into the big time endorsment money, and as one of my militant black friends says, they’re just happy, smilin’ niggers. T.O gets to get humilated as odor in a crappy anti-persperant commercial.

T.O looks at Vince Carter, Iverson, Kobe, and Shaq and thinks playin in up will bring in money, but it won’t no matter how hard he tries, and he is just going to get more pissed and and more resentful as time goes on.

Except for Favre & Manning, QB’s get hurt. It’s a fact of the NFL. Why he keeps coming down on McNabb is beyond me. Granted I don’t really follow what goes on in Philly, but to see a QB out is not so unusual. Roethlisberger is out this sunday, and he’s what, 24?

There’s got to be a point, I pray there’s a point, where teams just say FUCK YOU to douchebags like Owens. Yes, you are an extraordinarily talented young man, but even this great talent is dwarfed by the degree to which you are an asshole. Come back when you learn some humility and manners. Until then, go try to get a job outside of sports.

Won’t ever happen, but at least I have a dream.

Randy Moss (in C3PO voice): “Look what happened to me!”

You know… they probably would.

I wonder why they’d set off fireworks for someone else, but not you… :dubious:

It’s just immaturity. Some people actually grow out of immature assholishness, Like Prime Time. Have you heard him lately? Nope. He’s just playing. Doing a good job of it, too. Mouth of the South, tho, is still an immature asshole and always will be. Both were superstars, amazing talents at their positions. One learned to calm down. In public anyways.

For those out of the loop, Prime Time is Deion Sanders, Mouth of the South is Michael Irvin.

  1. I tend to be of the opinion that if he were not on the field, they would not be throwing as much; Reid has an addiction, and TO is bourbon.

  2. I would not be happy if I thought they were not going to replace him with a quality WR, but I think they would. Not as good, obviously, as TO is one of the top 3-4 WRs in the league, but all in all, I’d rather have a “B+” reciever than TO because…

  3. I don’t buy this “what’s off the field stays off the field” BS. I think he is a distraction, I think he’s a division, I think he causes coaches and other players to think and act differently than they would otherwise. He’s a cancer. I’ll be glad wheen he’s excised.

Right there with you on that! But there will always be someone who will hire them, unfortunately. :frowning:

I think that’s part of it, but the larger issue is that TO is and would always be second fiddle to McNabb. He’s an attention whore and it pisses him off that McNabb is the one with his picture on the stadium, and that there are more #5 jerseys in the stands than #81. Several writers have bottom-lined his gripe as “he wants QB money.”

I can see why TO is so frustrated and I don’t think he’s the problem.

How can you say his ego outways his talent? When the ball is thrown to him he usually catches it. He’s ranked no.3 in the league right now and that’s with a crappy offense.

Because his ego is ranked no.1 in the league right now.
