Hey, you, guys in the media. I’ve got my fingers in my ears and I’m going nya-nya-nya-nya-nya. Wanna know why? Because I don’t want to hear another goddamned word about TO. I don’t want a recap of all his stunts. I don’t want to hear moral indignation at how he can’t get along with anyone. Not because I care about Terrell Owens, but because I do not care that much about him and the saturation of coverage has already exhausted whatever energy I had for the topic. So stop it. Franky, I’d almost rather go back to Rafael Palmeiro or Ricky Williams than anything more about TO.
Side-rant: What is it about sports media that regrets the lapse of church-going in America and constantly wants to create sermons around this or that athlete. Either “this guy is a class act. His wife has cancer, and you know what he’s going through,” as if only millionaire quarterbacks go to work when a loved one is suffering, or “this guy is a child, he mooned a ref,” etc. When, exactly, when did “class” become a measurable stat in every sport and one that needs to be assessed and reported by any person in the media? When, exactly, did it become obsessively necessary to look for examples and non-examples of model citizenship? When, exactly, did every sports reporter and announcer get ordained as a minister and inited to sermonize to the audience at home? Give me a break. Shut up about it.
A good start would be shutting the fuck up about Terrell Owens. Nobody outside of Philadelphia gives a shit.
Hooray for Phil! Stupid delay meant I couldn’t watch it. I was all settled down with a Martini and five holes left yesterday evening, Phil takes a one shot lead, and before I know it I’m watching 60 fucking Minutes with the match on hiaitus. But still, hooray for Phil.
I, on the other hand, would like to thank T.O. for his continued and unwavering dedication to the mission of royally fucking up the Eagles from within. Go Giants!!
Well, good for Phil…I was rooting for Elkington, but that’s ok. It’s nice to see somebody nut up and sink a birdie on the final hole to win it. That’s the best way to win it.
Yeah, what is about money that attracts hot chicks. Ever seen David Tom’s wife? Yowsah!!
Phil really needed to win that tournament. I mean, after a 4 stroke lead starting Saturday’s round, it was his to lose. And he won it nicely with the flop shot-- one of the things he’s the best at. I’m not a huge Phil fan, but I was glad to see him win.
As for T.O., the guy is an idiot plain and simple. What a difference between golf and other sports… The closest golf comes to having someone like this is Sabatini when he got all agro just because Ben Crane was playing slow.
So, do you think that adding a right-winger (heh…or left-winger) T.O. to the Flyers would put the Flyers over the top, or would they self-destruct like they always have lately? Would Bertuzzi get back from suspension to lay T.O. out on the ice for good? Would Vancouver cheer wildly or just the NFC cities?
