Jersey Dopefest the Fourth on Sunday June 29 at 2pm

I am going to host another Dopefest at my house as a Barbeque. I am looking at a weekend in June or July. June 21 & 22 are out.

I am convenient to two Parkway exits (of course). Maybe we can figure out a weekend and gauge interest. I would hope to see people from NJ, NY and Penn and anywhere else of course but I am about 45 minutes on a good day from Brooklyn and 1.5 hours from Philly. ;

  • We are kid friendly and this might make things easier.
  • Last two times we managed some carpooling and train station pickups. I am sure we could do so again.

Aw, man. We’re moving to New Jersey in early August. Looks like we’ll be missing you by one lousy month! Though we do have to take a few days sometime this summer to find a place to live and get settled. We’ll see how the schedule works out, maybe we’ll be able to swing it after all.

I won’t really be able to say until it gets closer to the event. There’s a strong probability that by June I’ll have moved from the part of New York that’s close to New Jersay to a part of New York that is not. But I’m posting this so I can find this thread later on.

I’d like to come! It’s been a while since I attended a dopefest (Norfolk 2000).

I’ll not influence the date, though. Once everyone has decided on a date, I’ll give you the “thumb’s up,” “thumb’s down,” or the “thumb’s in yer eye!” But register me a tentative “yes.”

I would love to see some suggestions for dates. I have only ruled out the one weekend.

ChiefScott, I think you live very close to me, why don’t you at least list some potential weekends.

D_Odds: Does that mean you will try to make it?

Hal Briston any dates good or bad?

Veuve_ClicquotNJ which weekends work best?

Throw some dates out, the more that are out there early, the easier it will be to settle on a date before the month is out.

Mrs. D_Odds is the owner of my social calendar, and is very bad about letting me know what is on it (even when I tell her to block off days that are supposedly ‘free’). Give me a date, I’ll do my best to make it. Best bet is to pick a weekend the Yankees are on the road :wink:

With the exception of the 1st and 21st, June looks pretty good to me. Though potential Boy Scouts/JROTC events w/Li’lChief will take precedence.
In July, only the only available (as of right now) dates for me are the 12th, 13th or 27th.

That would be a request for June 1, 14/15, 28/29 or July 12/13.

These work well for me, though I will confirm the 28/29 tonight. I looks like it works for ChiefScott too.

Can’t really say…we’re looking to put our house on the market in the next month, so with any luck we’ll be moving sometime in June/July. However, there’s no way to tell right now if any particular weekend will be good or bad.

I’m fine with leaving it up to everyone else, and then making it work on our end.

I will be doing burgers, hot dogs and sweet italian sausages again as the main grill food.

We’ll figure the rest of it out as people join in.

Odd thing, I have lived in New Jersey for 33 of my 41 years of life and yet I have only had grilled pork roll twice. Not that I don’t like them, but I never look for them.

I hope so too.

If I’m free, I’'ll do my best to make it (possibly right from Sandy Hook, heh). Don’t plan around me, though.

Well, I wouldn’t be able to say for sure that I’m coming till much closer to the event but I would like to come.

I would definetly take the train down from NYC.
