Korean Folk song-Arirang; '60s pop version

Been trying to recall vocalist that had a very popular English language version of Arirang (pronounced "ah de dong" on that version, as I remember it) in the '60s and early '70s during the Vietnam War era.

Any help on the vocalist/group or even the (English) lyrics? Availability?

I've bought cds that have versions, looking for the pop one, but haven't found it.
(I still buy cds and do not own an iPod.)
