Michael Weston vs Dexter Morgan

Miami is a small town, most people with any relevance to the plot will eventually run into each other. So say a clueless relative of one of Dexter's victims approaches Michael as a client and Dexter links Michael to the murder of an "innocent" international terrorist that has no criminal history in the US. They are on a collision course. Knives and packaging tape vs guns and explosives.

Some basic rules:
- Sidekicks allowed, Dexter may frame Michael and get some assistance from Miami Homicide, Michael can rely on Phi, Sam and his mother, plus call in favors from his previous clients.
- Both protagonists become aware of each others existence before the big showdown. Dexter doesn't get sniped on the way to work, Michael doesn't get "Dextered" while out to get some yogurt.
- Both protagonists are currently free from any major plot developments inside their own stories.

No guesses, but I'd sure as hell watch. Burn Notice became a guilty pleasure as a result of a New Year's Day marathon. Similarly, I have been a Dexter fan since catching seasons 1, 2, and 3 over the summer in the lead up to season four. Though about picking up the books, but too much aliteration for me.

that is a good question, Dexter is the king of the sneak attack and has 0% shame in using drugs and or other dirty tricks to bag his victims...but the same can be said of Weston.

it would be cool.

but what also would be cool is if Dexter found out that the csi sunglasses for acting guy had murdered someone and while the csi's were investigating they came across Weston some how and yeah that.

yes intentionally strange cause I got little sleep.

Michael Weston. Alone he has limits; with Fiona & Sam on his side, he is invincible.

Weston would beat Dexter pretty easily I think. He's a pro and Dexter's an amateur. Dexter's ritual would hurt him as well.

Dexter could potentially get to the guy before Weston figures it out, but Michael would still catch him after the fact.

I actually think about this nearly every time I watch one of the episodes. I realized without the parameters that were set up in the OP, they would not take each other out. They both obey the other's code.

As to who would win? Michael is smart but can be hindered by emotions. Dexter has the luxury of having no feelings. Michael can operate a little bit more in the open, but Dexter is on the down low. Michael has Fiona and Bruce Campbell, Dexter's got kids. Michael has a bad relationship with the Miami PD. Dexter, of course, does not.

I think whoever would win would be the one to move first, get the element of surprise. If Dexter decided Michael needed to go, using his forensic voodoo to frame Michael would be the way to go. If Michael found out first, he'd make a lot of shit blow up and cause a lot of confusion because Dexter really likes routine and consistency.

As long as the immortal Chuck Finley is helping out, Michael Westin takes it. Plus, Fiona would shoot Dexter 5 minutes after she met him.

The real question, what happens if CSI Miami and his sunglasses enter the fight?

Of course, with Fiona around things would be sure to be...

Weston's team's problem would be in tracking Dexter down to begin with. How they would link the man who leaves no evidence to a person who has likely never even been charged with anything and hence has left behind no file in the police database seems quite a tall cliff to climb. Once you know that Dexter is Dexter, taking him out is terribly easy. You just snipe him from across the street or video him taking someone out, save the victim at the last moment, and call the cops in while leaving the video behind.

And say that during some part of their investigation into Dexter they had introduced one of themselves, Weston's crew always use fake identities that are untraceable, and they always have a front man who does all the face-to-face. Dexter would only ever have met or even known about one of them, and he wouldn't be able to trace him back. If he killed whichever of Weston's crew that he met, the other two would take him out instantaneously.

Dexter's only way to win is by not being found to begin with. Since the OPs situation presumes that this has already happened, Dexter is just a splattered fly on a windscreen.

Ah, but Dexter would notice on the police computers that someone was checking into him, and would probably get chummy with Michael's mom and learn all about Mike's good buddies, Fiona and Sam. By the time Michael and friends had their plan together, Dexter would know exactly where and when Sam had drinks, where and when Fiona shopped for ammo and when Michael was coming over to help mom plant the petunias.

It wouldn't be an easy fight between Dexter and Michael...but they might at least agree to go kill idiot David Caruso from CSI Miami first - thus spreading joy across the airwaves.

Weston would immediatly recognize Dexter as a kindred spirit, and enlist him in his circle of friends. Dexter would recognize that having someone come up with 'good' fake IDs for him could come in very handy, so goes along for the ride.
