Spoilery for Age of Ultron. It’s not like Age of Ultron is a thriller with wild twists and turns, but anyone who gets upset over inconsequential spoilers might get upset.
Jiaying worrying about how manipulative Raina is turns out to be the most manipulative of all!
We’re done with Adama. Can’t say I’ll miss him. Great actor, but didn’t care for this character.
They got me with the 33/May thing. In hindsight, it should’ve been obvious as soon as “May” proposed the scouting mission. From a continuity perspective, seems like flight ops on the carrier should have noticed an extra quinjet taking off.
Unless I missed something, the spirit-medal thing was a weak ass backup plan.
Two hour season finale next week should be exciting…
Wow, Shield vs. Inhumans, maybe Inhumans vs. humanity. Nah, probably not that big.
Poor Skye, what a pickle.
Ward, Ward, Ward. You’re breaking my heart man.
Bye Mac. Big baby.
Bye Gonzales. You’re too big to take secondary position.
So was Raina telling the truth for once? Don’t care. She’s still evil.
Cal & Jaiying are more alike than I thought.
As far as I can tell, Raina has always told the truth about her prophecies. She just tries to manipulate the way other people respond to them.
The scene where Simmons told Fitz that she tried to kill Ward and her only regret was failing was a good one. Our little Jemma has become quite the bad-ass.
Unless I missed something, it wasn’t intended as a backup plan. There was some misdirection from the writers - they led us to suspect that Gonzalez was smuggling in some kind of weapon to ambush Jiaying. But it turns out he was doing his mission as ordered and the package was a diplomatic gift offering. Which shows that Jiaying’s ambush was unprovoked; it’s not like she was trying to get in a pre-emptive attack before Gonzalez attacked her.
What was it that Bobbi supposedly did to 33? I remember the episode when Bobbi and Simmons were undercover in Hydra and 33 was being brainwashed but I don’t remember any interaction between them.
I figure , that Kara figured that Bobbi would have rescued her, Bobbi being deep cover in hydra at the time.

Yup, shield is gonna be going in next week, weapons hot and fangs out.
Declan
Our little Jemma has changed alignment to Chaotic Neutral, with evil tendencies. She committed cold blooded murder last week, and her only regret is murdering the wrong guy.
I’d just like to say that I had those exact same Empire Strikes Back sheets. I slept on them until I was 21.
I’m convinced those are Patton Oswalt’s actual sheets.
Her actions were absolutely premeditated: she’d already mused on how she’d get her people to follow her into war. The writers allowed the viewers to assume that meant she wanted to avoid war. But all along the Inhumans have shown disdain for normal humans, and extreme aversion to being found out. It was very unlikely they’d meekly submit to being Indexed - particularly after SHIELD changed the arrangements on them without warning.
As soon as Cal got on the Quinjet cheerfully insisting he didn’t know what the vials were, I knew something was up. (I’m assuming that was his Hyde formula.)
But is he in on Jiaying’s plan or is he just being goofy Cal? I assume because it was his idea to give himself up to save Skye he’s not in on it. He hates SHIELD but acknowledges that Coulson loves Skye. Of Skye’s parents, Jianying is the worse monster.
I don’t know why she used the Terragen Mist to kill Adama, that seems like a dangerous way to take him out. He clearly wasn’t an Inhuman, so how do you explain that you just had a crystal handy to take him out? Seems like a strange story to spin. And were any latent Inhumans close enough to her office to be transformed? That would be some interesting unintended consequences.
He claims they aren’t. He says he has New Kids on the Block sheets.
I wonder if Cap would live if he was sitting in that chair. Which side would Captain America fight for in the upcoming battle? I am rooting for the inhumans. I like the inhuman characters/actors more plus Jiaying is right about indexing.
Was Mac’s resignation just an excuse for the spinoff?
Cap would definitely be on the side of the Inhumans. SHIELD compiling lists of dangerous people was one of the things he railed against Fury in Winter Soldier, and his opposition to registering superhumans is going to be the plot of Civil War. And then there’s his comment in Age of Ultron about SHIELD.
And SHIELD’s paranoia about superhuman threats is hypocritical - SHIELD’s agents are far more dangerous than a lot of the superhumans we’ve seen. Technopathy nerd, razors-on-fingers girl, and even Jiaying are far, far less dangerous than Hawkeye, Black Widow, May, Bobbi, Ward, or even Coulson.
I thought Jiaying was going to unwrap a Nazi yellow star as her response to Gonzales’ request to index Inhumans in case they became dangerous later. Tie together the whole Hydra and SHIELD are indistinguishable as far as Inhumans are concerned idea. This was much better. Though as soon as he held up his cane and said “We share the same scars”, I thought “He’s gonna pay for that!”
