Shatner does Palin

More specifically…Shatner takes Palin’s bizarre speech and turns it into poetry as only he could:

Enjoy.

This really is worth a few minutes to click on the link and watch the video.

Hilarious!

Thank you!

I heard her say “north to the future” on the Daily Show the other night and wondered what in the hell that was supposed to mean… but Shatner made something of it.

Already saw it. Meh, Shatner was phoning it in.

FWIW, “North to the Future” is, and has been for awhile, Alaska’s state motto.

I think I heard Maurice say it once on Northern Exposure.

Let us not forget that there are a lot of great things about Alaska, its now most recent former governor notwithstanding.

Thanks to the thread title, I’m going to have a very unfortunate mental image all the rest of the day.

You can make anything awesome with a standing bass and a pair of bongos.

I’m sure Alaska is nice and I’d like to see it. “North to the Future” is still ridiculous and I’m sorry it’s not new.

Some of Palin’s remarks about nature were rather nice, but on the whole it was painful to listen to.

North to Alaska,
They’re goin’ North, the rush is on.

I thought it was pretty funny. Would it be mean spirited to say that Shatner’s “interpretation”, with his style of speaking made more sense than the original?

Boy, Conan sure stepped all over the ending. Whats wrong with letting the band finish before trolling for applause?

I agree with you. The Shat knows his own insanity. He’s not delusional enough to think that those words ever made much sense in the first place.

saw it on rachel maddow last night, very, very, funny.

Will you please provide a brief description of what will pop up on my screen if I click your link? Thank you!

William Shatner on the Conan Obrian show, reading part of Sarah Palin’s resignation speech as if it were a poem.

That is so last week.
It’s a supposedly hilarious clip from Conan O’Brien’s show, in which William Shatner is surprisingly brought on stage to recite choice excerpts from Sarah Palin’s resignation speech in the form of poetry, in Shatner’s inimitable one-man-Thespian style.

Already done.

There’s no supposedly about it. Even if you are a fan of Palin’s*, Shatner’s delivery is so dead-pan and dry, it’s amusing in its own right.

Perhaps appreciation of it does indeed separate the Cheechakos from the Sourdoughs…

*I am not. YMMV.
