1 Trump voters thoughts

But here is the problem. It was poorly educated white men who voted Trump into office.

Among whites without a college diploma, they supported Trump 67-28 over Clinton. That is both genders, since men are more Republican than women the divergence for high school educated white men is even bigger. Whites without a college diploma make up roughly 36% of the electorate. I am not sure of the gap for high school educated white men, but it was probably close to a 50 point gap for Trump. Maybe 74-25 as a guess. I can’t find the exact figures.

Now can we day that they are the only ones who voted for Trump? No. Trump also got votes from all demographics. Women, college educated, minorities, atheists, etc. High school educated white men make up roughly 18% of the electorate. You can’t win an election with 18% of voters giving you 74% of their vote.

But in this election cycle, the gender gap and education gap was larger than average, the education gap and voting patterns was the largest seen since 1980.

Had high school educated white men not broken for Trump so heavily Trump would not have won Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and probably Florida. And he would not be president.

I guess I don’t understand your argument. That is like a liberal being angry in 2012 because people on the right kept saying millennials and minorities are the ones who voted Obama in for a second term. It was. That isn’t an insult, it is factually accurate.

Hillary has not shown the level of scamming and sociopathy Trump does. That is a false equivalency.

That is like if your car is on fire and mine has a busted headlight so you say ‘I guess both our cars have problems’.

If someone started with the premise that Obama was evil, it would be insulting to millenials and minorities that they elected an evil man into the presidency.

Many on this board do start with the premise that Trump is evil, therefore…

Which side is terrified of Muslim toddlers and elderly?
Who ignores basic humanity due to fear of a 10 million to one chance of something bad happening?

Not in your eyes, but in the eyes of many voters her scamming and sociopathy are abundantly clear.

This is a matter of preception, and your preception lost.

This is a strawman. How the left expects to be taken seriously while resorting to such hyperbole is baffling.

No one should start with the premise that Trump is evil.

He’s certainly demonstrated that he’s an inept, ignorant, racist asshole however.

Evil requires intelligence, Trump is a bull in a china (gyna) shop. He’s not trying to cause trouble, but he’s gonna cause a lot of damage and shit all over the place.

Maybe you should tell us which of his proposals you find the most agreeable. If an Iranian military vessel has someone aboard who flips us the bird, they should die? Grabbing women by the crotch, your mom and your sister on board with that? Maybe 20 million people without health care, you don’t know anybody who is sick?

If you’re so damn tickled about all this, you gonna tell us why?

You don’t consider racism to be evil?

Would you by any chance be a multimillionaire with bank accounts secreted in the Caiman Islands ? 'Cause otherwise it’s pretty much a given he’ll fuck you up the arse without even bothering with the reacharound.

If you are a multimillionaire he might con you out of your money first.

I don’t have to agree with Trump to be amused by the way the robots on this board are pissing themselves with fury. You’re all smug know-nothings whipped into a frenzy and doing all the things you criticize the right for. It’s natural to enjoy seeing shitty people get their comeuppance.

So, nothing, then? That’s all you got. No prob, pretty much already knew that.

He’s drilling holes in our lifeboat, and you are gloating “HA! All you fuckers gonna drown!”.

Who are you calling “shitty people?”

It does evil, but I’d say Trump is probably more of an unthinking racist. He’s prejudiced, but probably doesn’t seethe like, say Bannon does. Trump, I don’t think has the intent to be actually evil. But if in charge would cause great evil.

We aren’t Know Nothings–that was the anti-immigrant political party active in the 1840’s & 1850’s.

I was upset about 24 hours after the results came in. Now I’m making contributions to groups in need. (Planned Parenthood first. Probably the ACLU.) I haven’t protested but might. The protests in Harris County (which voted for Clinton) have been quite peaceful.

I’ll be concerned with the vulnerable are hurt by Trump’s policies. Or by the Republican Congress’s policies. Or by your various Known Nothing friends.

Alas, I will be amused when the coal miners realize that Trump may not put them back to work. Natural gas is cheaper & I bet the Oil & Gas lobby has more money than Coal. What will they do when Congress begins “fixing” Medicare & Social Security? Trump wanted to leave them alone but he can’t order Congress to do his bidding. And I’ll be amused when that really promising Fix the Infrastructure program is derailed because the Giant Tax Cuts have taken all the money.

Which candidate is more of a lying, cheating con man is not a matter of “perception”. It’s a matter of cold, hard fact. And the fact is, the bigger con man here is Trump. By every conceivable metric, and by a degree that makes the perception that Clinton is somehow the bigger liar or scammer or sociopath a matter of delusion, not rationality.

Yes, our perception lost, but that’s like asking people, “Which one of these two coins is bigger”, and having many of them pick the dime over the quarter. It doesn’t change the fact that the quarter is the bigger coin, and it’s both bizarre and frightening to see so many people get such a simple question so wrong.

Don’t worry about it, he’ll hold a rally, thousands of people will come and shout about how much they love him. Problem solved. Next!

According to polls, in the the eyes of many people who voted for Trump, Obama was a Muslim born in Kenya. Just because people on the right think something about Hillary or Obama doesn’t make it true.

Call me elitist (and you probably will) but my impression is most of the fears the right has of Hillary or Obama were based on hyperbole and misinformation. Many of the fears the left have of Trump are based on actually listening to Trump speak and observing his behavior.

They are not the same.

Truth means nothing. Lies are truth and truth are lies now.

I’ll grant you smug but how are we know nothings?

It doesn’t really make a lot of sense to post that you want people to understand your position, but refuse to actually tell people what your position is. You made some clear statements about why you decided to vote, including that you felt you were taking a calculated gamble and that you knew what Hillary Clinton was going to do. But when asked what the calculations were for the gamble, or what it was that you knew HRC was going to do, you hid behind ‘I don’t want to talk politics’. That’s not going to bring anyone greater understanding, or make them think you have an actual nuanced position.
