Any numbwit from here on out who has a 100 post party should be banned post haste.
Post parties can be fun, and are a great chance to flirt shamelessly, but get over yourselves. 100 posts is nothing! You need to earn that crap with a bare minimum of 500 posts. Now, you’re more than welcome to throw a party with booze, nudity and animals for soem random reason, but no 100 post parties!!!
I thought everyone hated me, so I spent my 100th post writing some drivel about Tinkerbell beauty products in ** Duck Duck Goose’s ** post about perfume and bug spray.
Then i went home and threw a party for myself and wore a paper hat out of newspaper and sat sullenly at the kitchen table with my paper hat and single cupcake with a stubby candle sticking in it and sang softly to myself, surrounded by taxidermed birds, pigeon-rats and assorted reptiles.
I’m glad you all cared about 100th post…

My post # 100 was in fact, my first and only double post. I was called on it, too.
Omniscient, are you including my Eleventy-one post in this diatribe? It wasn’t much of a party, and it wasn’t for 100 posts, either.
Just curious – I thought post parties were some sort of tradition.
Frankly, I’d be happier if they turned the damn counter off. However, referring to one’s post count is truly mundane and pointless.
I did the post party at 1000 then came 2000, I let that go without much fanfair. Someone noticed it in a “I need a life” thread I had started though
Personally I quit reading most post party threads…they get old after a while.
Milestones like birthdays, new babies and other such personal events are worthy of a thread party though. These deserve parties.
And post-count snobbery rears its ugly head again.
Sorry, Omniscient, but that’s what it is. I certainly don’t disagree with your right to rant about 100 post parties, they do appear quite often. But its good to see new blood on this board (not that I’m old-hat or anything…).
If you want to rant, request this to be taken to the pit. MPSIMS is certainly no place to scare off anyone who feels comfortable enough around here to celebrate a small milestone on a forum it seems they really enjoy.

Needless to say, I made up for it by not having a post party since then. But, I’ll join 'em, in the spirit of mundanity and pointlessness, of course.
Omni, I agree totally. 100 is not that impressive and does not need any stupid party. So I waste mine here.
