Yes, and 2000 Sci-Fi points for you! She appeared in the three novels that made up The Cornelius Chronicles. I don’t identify with her at all or in any way, but I liked her name, and when I chose an online name, I picked it because Anthracite was taken at many places. I use Anthracite here because it was free, but I’m also used to being referred to as “Una”.
FTR, I’ve also appeared (at other sites, no duplicate names here) as Jennifer Gauss, Kali, SoulCatcher, Lady, Titania, and once as Lignite. But I’ve settled on “Anthracite” and “Una” as my two nom des plumes.
I’m keeping that room open for you and quietgirl.

I happened upon the Straight Dope in a search for a Mark Twain poem, ended up at the home page, and saw Democritus’s thread entitled “There’s a spider in my bathroom” featured in threadspotting. You know I think you are one of the greatest posters on the board. I admire you tremendous amounts for your talent and love reading your posts. You are one of the few people on the board that can make me read a thread just by having your name involved.
I’m sorry people forgot your birthday–that sucks. Rest assured, if we Dopers knew it was your birthday then we would have thrown you the biggest kick-ass party ever!
