When I see threads like this, I always think of the phrase, “Depends on who’s OX is being gored.”
Wonder if the guy / guy’s who actually stepped up are anti-second amendment or pro- second amendment?

If tragedies can count as a political “win” for any side of a debate, I don’t see how this is anything but a win for the pro-gun-control side, when one compares the results of this tragedy to recent mass shootings.
Wasn’t there a Chinese mass stabbing event recently? I seem to recall people using it to show that knives were just as dangerous as guns…until it was pointed out that nobody died in that incident either.
edited to add: Found it.
How can anything be a ‘win’ when folks are hurt by an assailant?
I remember something back in the 70’s in the National Lampoon magazine reporting on an assassination of Spiro Agnew with an ice-pick.
“When ice-picks are outlawed, only outlaws will have ice-picks.”
It is notable that the hijackers of the aircraft that rammed into and destroyed the WTC were armed with plastic knives and box cutters.
The only takeaway I have from this horrible tragedy is that some humans like to kill other humans.
How long they report that this guy was obviously crazy and everyone around him knew it for some time before the stabbing spree? Just like evey other mass murderer.
Well, he told the police he’s wanted to stab someone ever since he was a little kid (…so maybe this is a “win” for him?), but no word yet on whether everyone knew about it.
There were clues he was “off”. 2 years ago this same guy was in an Amber Alert as a runaway. They found him camping out in a tent on this same college campus.
