This. My son was fooled by an so called friend who just used him and his cousin as shop lifters for himself. He bought them beer and I imagine pot and maybe more. He wasn’t living with me at the time but I told him if I ever had any evidence of his “friends” activities" I’d press charges and see him in jail.
Which is where he wound up.

If it was my teenage daughter and threats and the law didn’t work I’m not sure how far I’d go. Pronbably not shooting the guy since I’ve never owned a gun. I’ve owned a bat though.
My grand neice, {is that a thing?} was involved with an older guy, pushing 40. They both eventually got busted for drugs and she was pregnant. That’s when she discovered how quickly he would abandon her if it suited him.

Maybe not. Some children will make bad choices despite having good parents.

We have two daughters, ages 13 and 14. Like you, I teach them right from wrong and try to be a good role model. If one or both decides to make bad choices later in life despite my best efforts, they will have to live with the consequences.

As for Kim Walker, he was not justified for killing her daughter’s boyfriend.

Killing? Probably not.

Maiming? Absolutely.

That said – I can’t get too upset over what this guy did. Glad to see his kid got clean.
