Good job, Katie! You’re where my loss has gone, it appears.
Knock it off.
Good job, Katie! You’re where my loss has gone, it appears.
Knock it off.
Thanks guys! It feels really good, especially since I can’t remember the last time I was under 180.
And Ginger, you’ve done so well to date! I’m in awe of all the exercising you’ve been doing. Keep up the good work.
I weighed in at 191 this morning, so I’m down 8.4 lbs for the month of October! I’m very psyched. So, only, um 51 lbs to go. Sigh.
Actually, I’m feeling great. I’d like to lose 5 lbs a month. By this time next year I should be at my goal weight. A year’s a long time, but if I can stay motivated, I figure not only have I lost the weight, but I’ve changed my eating and exercising habits too.
Just keep at it, CJT. That’s all you can do.
I am stopped. Stalled. Plateausville. I’m about ready to just say ‘fuck it all’ and get the damned plastic surgery. That’s gotta get rid of about ten pounds, right? RIGHT?
Still haven’t really budged in the weight department, but I’m not worrying about it this week. I’m going to keep up with the gym and eating right, and what will be, will be! Of course I’m totally pre-menstrual, so this opinion may change before I hit “submit”
I was down another 8lbs. this month, for a total so far of 78. I’m not sure how much I have to go. I’d be thrilled to get below 200, which is the lightest I’ve been in my adult life, and I’m ~50lbs from that. But I’d really like to get down to about 175 before looking into plastics, which I figure to take off another 15-20lbs.
Grats to all!
It seems I’ve been hovering around the same five pounds for the last couple weeks, mostly I think because I’m weighing on two scales at two work sites that weigh about 2 pounds different… both were recently calibrated by the same people, I think .
Anyway, I’m down a couple more pounds today for just shy of -85 pounds so far, and am within 15 pounds of my lowest adult weight! Woo me! I’d like to lose about another sixty pounds, but am well over halfway to my original goal weight. Damn, does it feel goooooood.
!!!
Another bit of excitement is that feeling (and looking) physically better makes me want to get out of the house and do fun things that I haven’t even considered doing for years. I’d like to do some kayaking and more hiking–or more challenging hikes than we’ve been doing, anyway–and I’d really like to get back into falconry. Who knows, maybe I’ll be able to get a horse eventually too ;0). Nice side effect of losing all this weight, life is way fun again.
Hi All - congrats to everyone on their weight loss so far, it’s really wonderful reading this thread and getting all the good vibes from everyone!
I lost 10 lbs this month - that’s 104 lbs down since January 2006 and another 78 to go. God that seems like a lot. Anyway, I am trying to focus on the getting fitter part and it really is working, I worked out for an hour yesterday and then went on a 2 hour walk with my husband who was the one huffing and puffing, not me any more!!! I was delighted, despite him gasping beside me lol… (he lived, in case you were worried!).
I feel like I’m getting to be a woman again, a real woman if that makes sense. I was even thinking about putting makeup on for the first time since I got married (I never normally wear it and people say I don’t need to but God knows anything helps). Also, I tried on a pair of high heeled ankle boots I’ve had for ages and they were lovely on me, hubby said they made my legs look really slim :). He said that he loves me no matter what, and that I was always his woman
I hope to lose the full 78 by May 2007 or close to… do you think it’s possible?!
I have read several articles that says that eating 3 portions of calcium rich food daily helps you to lose weight. Don’t know if that helps at all re dropping the yogurt, maybe taking a supplement might help.
Honeydew, the three servings of calcium are meant to help you lose inches from your waist as well as lose weight. Not to mention, women NEED calcium to help stave off osteoporosis.
I hit my October goal this morning. 182 by Halloween. Not all that frickin’ impressive, but at least I’m still losing. I’m going to get on the Weight Watchers Wendie plan, where the amount of points you eat per day varies, so it helps you lose better. No matter how much I exercise, I’m still only losing about a half pound per week and I’m frustrated as all get-out. Public Health doctor friend tells me that it’s GOOD to lose so slowly, but I just punch her when she says that. (I TOTALLY DON’T PUNCH HER).
Good luck everyone with Halloween temptations. I’m maintaining weight loss, but I still can’t handle a lot of candy around me. Trick or Treaters are coming to work today so I stocked up on the candy I can’t stand - 3 Musketeers, Milky Ways and Almond Joys. It’s really a life long, everyday committment that involves a lot of planning. So worth it!
Ginger - I think your weight loss is great! My weight loss really slowed down for awhile too, it was frustrating but I did eventually meet my goal weight. Looking back, it doesn’t seem so bad now, I just feel victorious!
Thanks, Glory. I’m feeling the need for some encouragement and it doesn’t seem to be forthcoming.
I’m running a weight loss challenge on another board (WW related). Anyone want in? In a nutshell, post your beginning weight, pledge x amount of loss by New Year’s. Email is in my profile if you’d rather not post your numbers.
Anyhoo. Anyone going to start the November thread, or should I go to?
In an effort too keep our threads from growing too large, I have started the November thread here
