So you’re basically getting Aaron Maybin 2 rounds later…that works.
I’m with you. I like the physical display and like the pick as well. I was hoping the Lions could have snagged him.
At that spot, to snag a positional pass rusher, I think that’s a good pick as well.
Jamon Meredith? Duke Robinson? D.J. Moore?
Wait, don’t say it yet. The Cowboys are still on the clock.
Edited to add: Fire away, both guns blazing, sir.
Edited again: Orrrrr DeAndre Levy. That too. Reading a little bit about him, I don’t mind that pick so much at all. We needed some linebackers (and everything else).
Maybin’s motor was much higher, I think. Outside of that, I think you’re spot on.
Leggy, narrow DEs like those two worry me. I’ve never really been able to figure out how Jason Taylor ended up being so damned good, he just doesn’t look like he should be able to do that.
You sure you want to describe another man as “leggy”?
Edited to add: Two more picks until the Lions. My wish list stays the same.
I deep wondering why he isn’t gone yet. And I keep hoping he’ll continue to fall. But it’s a long fucking way for him to get to the Packers.
I like Levy. Of course, I like most Badgers guys. I think he’s better in space than in the pile, but he’s got great speed, some pass rush ability, and was IIRC a team leader. He’s not much of a hitter though, but maybe he’ll grow a bit, bulk up, and become a force. Good pick.
And now another Badger off the board. Three Badgers in the third round. I like Urbik too. He’s a big boy. Odd to see him go before Duke Robinson though.
Does anyone else think Mike Singletary sounds like a cartoon character?
NFL Network is showing some fine videos of holding by the Steelers new guard. Upholding NFL tradition, he will never be called for it.
Maybin also has nice abs and a cute ass. Rowwwwwrrrrr.
At least I didn’t say “spurtability”.
Meredith to the Lions here?
ETA: Nope, Derrick Williams. Not sure I would have picked a WR considering their other needs, but he’s a potential 2nd round talent.
Oh, beeeeehave.
I’d go from really liking to loving the Lions draft if the do that.
Or “drinkability”. You could have also mentioned the quality of his penetration into the backfield.
Edited to add: Derrick Williams. Receiver. Penn State. I’m okay with that. We do need some more receivers, but with other value still on the board, I dunno.
I do not understand why Derrick Williams is going in the third round. He’s an OK returner, but he’ll be a boy (a very small boy) among men in the NFL. He’ll be a nice compliment to Charles Johnson, but he’s never had more than 550 yards per year. If the lions are lucky, he’ll be Dante Hall. But I doubt it.
As I was typing that I think Brandon Tate would have been better if the Lions wanted a WR there, the Patriots go and pick him.
Calvin. Calvin Johnson.
Maybe a reach, but he’s a high-character guy who fills a couple of roles (3WR & return man).
The way I see it, he’s Roscoe Parrish. He’s also a pretty decent guy, from what I’ve read, which is nice, too.
I suppose he could max-out as Bobby Engram. Maycock on NFL Network is not a fan, heh. The does fit as a complimentary guy between Pettigrew and Johnson, a small, elusive, quick slot guy that can exploit the space Johnson creates.
ETA: Little bit of a WR run here. I hate seeing that.
ETA2: Who are the Giants trading up to get? Meredith?
