The only reason that I’m not vehemently abusing TT is Nick Collins and Greg Jennings. Two second round picks that, at the time, I thought were bad picks and bad value, yet I was wrong and he was right. That’s the ONLY reason, because I really do think that it was a bad pick.
TRADE! Patriots again!
26 (58) Texans - Ben Tate, RB, Auburn
Reminds me of a slightly slower Steven Jackson, and not as shifty. Not bad, since he’s big.
Browns TRADE up with the Eagles.
Colt McCoy is the speculation.
Gah the Browns trade up and they don’t bother to notify me over Tebow’s yapping.
27 (59) Browns - Montario Hardesty, RB, Tennessee
Another big back, Holmgren probably thought a run on them was about to happen.
Tim Tebow sounds like some sort of fundamentalist christian robot. He actually said “God Bless” at the end of the interview. I wonder if the NFL will let him stitch a little Jesus fish on the back of his jersey.
Son of a bitch, what the hell is going on? Trading up to grab another guy no one has heard of, when you already have the best running back who ever lived, Jerome Harrison?
I laughed out loud when they drafted Hardesty because I knew Beef was flipping out over Jerome Harrison. Hehehe.
I love the Tate and Hardesty picks. They two best RBs in this draft.
Thus far I feel like that Patriots are totally wasting this draft. I don’t feel like they got a single impact player.
28 (60) Seahawks - Golden Tate, WR, Notre Dame
Well, that’s reassuring, cause I’ve never heard of the guy. Was he projected 2nd round value? It seems like he’d have been there early in the third for them to take. Just… weird.
He sounds unbelievably insincere whenever he talks, be it Jesus or football he always sounds like he’s pitching some snake oil off a script. I’m not sure the kid has an original thought in his head.
Not the first Tate drafted, to my surprise. He should be OK, but there’s nobody up there to throw him the ball. He’s small, too.
Both Browns picks came after someone at the same position who was a reasonable value just went. Was it some sort of panic move trying to avoid having their guy dissapear during a run? In the 2nd round Nate Allen who’s a reasonable enough 2nd round safety got taken, so they got 3rd+ rounder Ward, and now Tate goes and they trade up to pick up some obscure RB? Bah.
Who do the Jets pick here? WR? Mardy Gilyard, maybe? Brandon Spikes to shore up the middle?
Golden goes to Seattle. Good for them.
Yeah, he was a late second, early third round grade. He’s going to be excellent in Cleveland.
I love that the entire NFL seems to agree with my Colt McCoy / Ken Dorsey comparison.
Typical Eagles draft.
29 (61) Jets - Vladimir Ducasse, OT, UMass
Love it, dammit. I wanted this guy, but the 49ers got their guys in the 1st.
Did you know that “A QB taken after the 1st round has roughly a 13% chance of being a real, live player”?
Gee, I would have guessed closer to 80%, AT LEAST.
(Look at Jimmy Clausen’s blurb)
